Kimi,

I looked for the "homework" earlier today, I took today off as a "snow day":D with good intentions of getting some work done. Didn't even get started with what I intended to do, PSE and this forum were yelling my name much louder than the work... :D

Looking forward to seeing the creativity again this week!

Steven and Kimi...........both great images.

Thanks for doing these threads Kimi, I think it gives us a bit of a kick start! It's always interesting to see different interpretations of the same technique.

Kim... It made a big difference in your image.

Andie.. I can see that your statue would have been completely lost and now he is found. Looks good hon!

I will admit on mine I actually darkened it up and then I applied the painting. :p

Nancy.. :D I thought that about my ducks also. So I went back and did it the opposite. I darkened my image and then painted the ducks back in.

Bill... both are very nice!

Rusty... Huge Difference.

Robyn... So glad you and Nancy came to play. :D Did you use this effect on your image of Sally that you turned in at Scrapper's Guide? It is just lovely.

Isn't it amazing how well this works? I mentioned that instead of painting the light in, I did a selection of the parts I wanted to brighten, and filled the selection with white. Did anyone else try it this way? I am better at doing selections than I am at carefully painting!!

Everyone's pictures look wonderful. I showed a group of kids at school who are taking digital photography class and they made me show them how it was done. They were so impressed with the beautiful pictures by all my friends!! We didn't have lots of time but we ended up looking at a few galleries before the bell rang - Robyn, Kimi, Red Sky ( not red sky), and Nanci. They will probably be back tomorrow to see more!

Yes it is beautiful when you get the results you were hoping for. Here is one I did of little Sophie (don't let the angelic look fool you:D ) and used in a scrapbook layout.

Thanks Nancy! :D

It is wonderful for the newbies to see what can be done with a little knowledge. (are a lot in your case)

Has to be the most creative homework we have had so far!

Thanks Kimi. :o I'm sort of prejudiced but I think she's a beauty and she really needed her own special page.

Hi - mine does not show as much with the small pictures. I tried to light the stump. Anyway Kimi - I have to thank you for bringing that tut to my attention. Had not even seen it. Thanks for making me try some of these things!
Shari

PS I just noticed I have 1927 posts and wondered why this date seemed familiar. Because my husband was born in 1927 - you can all start counting now!!! He still goes to the gym and plays racquetball four times a week and works in the insurance industry because he enjoys it.
