uninstall PSE 4.0?

I installed PSE 5.0 shortly after it was released and during the installation I thought it said it would remove PSE version 4. But just yesterday I noticed that I still have version 4 on my computer ( I noticed because my undo and redo buttons on the toolbar mysteriously reappeared, then on the title bar of the window I saw I was in the version 4 editor). My question is if I uninstall PSE 4, will that interfere with PSE 5? (Shared files and all that taken into consideration)

Anyone else have this happen to them?

John... I went from 4 to 5. You will want to make sure you have moved any extras that you added to 4 before you uninstall. Styles, Plug-ins, Ect.

Once I moved all of my extras to 5. I uninstalled 4 with no problems.
Others may have things I have forgotten... Good Luck.

How do you move the extras?

Are they just files that go into different subdirectories?

Hi Ken ...

Bu extras Kimi means anything you added into PSE4 ... like new brush sets, custom shapes, layer styles etc.

If you installed any of those then you need to you just need to remove them from PSE4 and reinstall the in PSE5 :)

One thing to watch for though is that some plugins like Grants Tools are version specific. Check to see if there is a version 5 before moving version 4.
