'allo
I created a DVD layout etc.. with movies I made in Premiere Elements 3.0.
I tried to burn it to DVD using Elements 3.0 but after it failed twice (unknown error message when burning 90% completed) I then used the burn to folder option, that seemed to work ok.
When I attempt to open the 'DVD File' (located in the Open DVD folder) with Sonic:MyDVD (File -> Open Project ->) it says
"unable to edit [filename and location].dvd Because it was made by an incompatabile application"

So my question how do i open it in Sonic? or how to i try again in elements 3.0 using the folder i created?

I am I missing someting obvious? this is killing me please help.
cheers

I have burned to a folder in Premiere Elements, then burned that result to a DVD by using Sonic Record Now to burn the Video_TS folder to a DVD.

So I think that you should be using the Sonic Record Now application for this task instead of the Sonic MyDVD application.

Most times a DVD burner or a PC that contains a DVD burner will come with some program that will burn data to a DVD.

Since you have Sonic MyDVD and do not have Sonic Record Now, you might have a Roxio program that will burn data to a DVD. If yes, use that to burn the Video_TS folder created by Premiere Elements.

If you and Barb O have a plan going and it is working, please disregard this note.

Given (a) that you have a saved folder from "burn to folder" generated from Premiere Elements (b) you want to burn this saved folder to DVD with software that came with your DVD writer or with some other burn software that you have on your computer (not Premiere Elements')

As said, it is just the VIDEO_TS folder and all its contents that you want to burn to DVD. I have Nero as well as Record Now. Please refer to post #4 of:

http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19070

Important to remember, all burn software may not handle the VIDEO_TS to DVD by the same route. Some do not let you use create data disc, and you have to use the category for burning video files as mentioned in my earlier post cited above.

When you have time, one of the things to check out is any involvement of Stop Markers in your "burn to disc" problems in Premiere Elements.

ATR,

I agree with your comments. Hopefully we will learn which DVD burning software is available on jb's system and then someone who has that same software can verify more specific instructions.

As your link referenced, I do think that if it is Nero, then it must specifically be burned specifying Video DVD.

hello
I thank you both for your help and sugestions.
I decided to give it another whirl, that is trying to burn the DVD using Premiere Elements 3, and low and behold it worked fine!!

I have since created another DVD and again, had no problems burning that to Disc using Elements!!
Bizarre.

I'm a huge fan of Premiere Elements but some of the little bugs and system glitch's are quite annoying. I wasted 3 blank DVD's trying to burn my movie, and don't get me started on the whole "programe won't run? -best way to get around this is to create a new user and load Elements there"

Thanks again for your help. It is very much appriciated.
cheers
