Hey everyone.

Premiere Elements 3.0. Why am I getting up to 18 seconds between each action on this program. 2.0 didn't do it and I'm running 4 gb of RAM so that can't be the problem. I'm glad I kept 2.0. Anyone got a quick explanation for this problem.

Thanks,

Todd

People have experienced problems with slow response in Prem Elem 3 editing after they have added several effects or transitions.

I myself have experienced some delays, but it always "came back". However, others have noticed severe slowness when editing with video on Track 1.

There is an update to Premiere Elements 3. Here is a link to an Adobe forum FAQ pointing to the new update

And while you are at the Adobe forum on Premiere Elements you might read more about how to effectively use the fix within that update to resolve the problem of Track 1 slowness. For example, look at Post number 19 on this thread for feedback experiences with this update applied and the hint about displaying the Sceneline and then going back to edit from the Timeline

Thanks Barb O for the information on the patch.

I downloaded it, installed it, closed PE3 and rebooted. I'm still trying to get used the PE3 as opposed to PE2. I made my own pan and zoom transistions on 2 but they didn't come over to 3 for some reason. I like them better than the presets in 3. Rendering seems to take forever also. I render quite alot to get a smooth video output on the time line.

Anyway, thanks and I'll keep you posted.

Todd,

"I made my own pan and zoom transistions on 2 but they didn't come over to 3 for some reason"

My suggestion is that you ask about this over on the Adobe Premiere elements forum because it has many more participants than this forum. If there is a way to bring them from v2 to v3, I strongly suspect that someone on that forum will know how.
