Just purchased a copy of Premiere Elements 3.0 to go with my Photoshop Elements 4.0 so I can do a DVD for my daughters swim team banquet, But I can get PRE 3.0 to recognize my PE 4.0:confused: ? Any tips?
Thank,
Greg

"But I can get PRE 3.0 to recognize my PE 4.0"
Please be more specific about what you mean by "recognize". Exactly what are you attempting to do?

I open PRE 3.0 and start a project, then when I go to File - Get media from the Photoshop elements is not pickable? I have started a slide show in PE and would like to bring it into PRE 3.0.

Hmmm....
Don't think I have attempted that one. Now some of the interfaces of PRE3 are specific to PSE 5, but I don't know about that one. I have PSE5 on my PRE3 machine so I don't think I can try a Get from PRE3 to PSE4.
What I would do is to instead use Get Media from Files and Folders instead - in fact that is what I usually do.
Also are you aware of the recommendation that you should downsize the resolution of your digital photo files before you add them to Premiere Elements?
"I have started a slide show in PE and would like to bring it into PRE 3.0."
Sorry, I missed this sentence the first time. The Send Slideshow function is not available with PSE4 and PRE3. It is one of the functions that only works for the PSE5 and PRE3 combination. So I don't think you can bring that slideshow (as a slideshow) over to Premiere Elements.
You do have other options like sending the photo files with sequence controlled by a PSE collection from PSE4 to PRE3. Now as I said earlier I tend to send from PSE rather than try to Get from PRE3 - so I don't know if you can GET a slideshow creation even with PSE5 and PRE3. I have done the Send of the Slideshow PSE5 to PRE3.
Back again with another alternative
You can do an Output DVD,NTSC in the PSE4 slideshow editor which will create an intermediate WMV file for burning to DVD in PRE3. This will come in to PRE3 as a video (wmv) so if you are finished with the contents of your show, this will be your quickest option.

Thanks, I will give that a try.
I will have to find that part about down sizing the photos prior to adding them to PRE3. I have not done that yet.
One more thing when I play the prview in PRE3 it looks fussy, is this because of the resolution of the photos or just because it is a preview?
Thanks again,
Greg

might be mixture of being a preview and if you are playing from the PRE timeline also the fact that it is not rendered (you will see a red line thru the image on the timeline). suggest that you look a 'render' in help because I am not at my sys that has PRE to give you specific instructions.
Or if it is a WMV file, there may just be some fuzzyness because of compression- but do render and see if it is better.
