No one will laugh Kimi, wasn't the original before your time?

Here's a link to a different machine, after the Broadway show. I love looking at collector sites.

This was really a tough one. What was there was repetition and I really was lacking inspiration. Unfortunately as a truck driver I fall under DOT testing guidelines and couldn't get outside inspiration as Grant eluded too. I did listen to music though.

Alex ... Oh some very nice effect in your entries this week. I did try to choose a favourite but I just like them all !!

Anne ... Wow that is a spooky effect. Nice work on it ... neat touch with the eyes!

Barbara ... What a stunning effect in No 1 ... and how did you do those swirling line effects ?? and what great angles and colours in No 2 ... that colour combination is perfect and a great look in No 3 that is just so effective !!

Ben ... Oh yes you really got into the mood with that one ... I like it.

Bill ... That makes such a good entry its a clever theme and very nicely done.

Bob ... My goodness No 1 certainly is different .. what a fun image. Neat idea in No 2 and what a good illusion it creates.

Charles ... Like the orb ... those colours seem to lend themselves to the effect and I do like the second one where you overlayed him on the orb !!

Dave ... Way dark, deep and mysterious. Ummm I love the motion effect ..

Debra ... Nice you on the detail from the image ... it makes a good entry.

Donald ... Very nice effect and I would love to know how you did it ?

Ellen ... You have made a great job of doing that ... very into the mood of the image.

Jack ... I love it ... what a good animation !!

Kathy ... Oh nice work. How did you do that text ??

Kimi ... Beautiful effect ... I love it. How did you do that ???

Laura .. Nice work on the paper edges, that really is effective and has a great look. Nice choice of colours.

Malcolm ... Oh wow I love that. Its all the edge detail that stands out so much ... I would love to know how you did it ?

Marilyn ... What a wonderful smudges effect. Very realistic and just beautifully done ... I love it !!

Rita ... It rather reminds me of a 1960 print ... it really is a very nice effect. How did you get all that detail into it ?

Steven ... Very nice work indeed and for me the added graffiti just finished it off. Nice touch with that !!

Robyn ... Great use of blending modes and nice work on the colour effect ... its excellent.

Tab ... This is quite different to your usual style but I think that it is just so effective and makes the most of the image. Nice work !!

Ward ... Clever idea and good movement in there. No 2 just has to be my favourite its just so imaginative and you have created a great effect :)

Wendy,
Thanks as always for your comments. A great starter image that, frankly, left me stumped for several days, until I saw some of the early entries.

I have to give a nod to Ben Mills. His entry sent me searching for the original Tommy cover art, which I used as a model for my background. The guitar and image overlay should be pretty obvious. The windmill was an attempt to pay homage to Peter Townshend's signature playing style.

Thanks Wendy. That was a tough one ... congratulations on getting four entries in. I really liked your fourth one ... the curtains. They look great!

Wendy- once again you are too kind to take the time and care to comment on everyone's entries. Your fabric/drapery renditions are more and more impressive (insert plea for tut here)
I was struck by Jack's animation and by Ward's flippers and by Rita's poster and...

Oh goodie...........curtains! Can't wait.

Thank you for your comments Wendy. Yours are terrific, as always, but your 'curtains' are my favourite.

Wendy,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on all the entries. You are too kind. I love your curtains also. Can't wait for the tut ..... your tuts are always so easy to follow.

The text you say ? Well .... I found a Bally logo on the internet, selected the text from it and used the Extensis PhotoBevel 2.0 Solo plugin - Inner Slope with red as highlight and a yellow gold as shadow. Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me remember where I downloaded this plugin from :o .... I think at About.com. I cutout a portion of the dark background using the text selection, the favourite Gaussian blur and offset it underneath to "shadow".

Hi Kathy ...

Thanks for all the info ... I will search it out :)

... and thank you for the comments about my tuts.

There is a slight hitch at the moment due to problems with the site but I am hopeful that the second of my January tutorials will be posted pretty soon ... and there are two February ones there too.

Wendy,

thank your for your comments.
The details and also the colors are basically artifacts of several filters and blendmodes I tried in the hope of finding a doable idea. This was a difficult one.

I worked forever on this image, but honestly, the one thing I didn’t do was make those paper edges. That was a photo I pasted in, and then noodled with in a couple ways. (The motorcycle was yet another photo.) Thanks, though, for your observation. These challenges are a terrific way to learn stuff.

Laura

Laura .. Nice work on the paper edges, that really is effective and has a great look. Nice choice of colours.

A big BIG apology! I have not been following the site as closely as i should have ...seems my mine is preoccupied with an upcoming move. I didn't realize that images were being sent and not arriving. It appearers they we sitting on my servers hard drive. I down loaded them and they are now up. There have to be about 7 images that this happened to. Please take a look at the as they deserve looking at as they as stunning as those already posted.

I contacted my provider and they said "The problem must be at your end but Iyou should have no more trouble as the fixed it ." I have a router and a fire wall they can't get onto my computer ...do you think thy lied?

In any event, Just to let you know I have already lined you a high speed provider in Nova Scotia so the only challenge now will be to get out here.
