Your original is gorgeous, too. But I really like the off-center framing you did here, as well as the soft effect. Nice work, Jo.

I noticed that too and it really caught my eye! I was going to look at it more closely and see if this technique would enhance the fall colored photo I have.

Very Nice Jo!

Good job! It always amazes me that we can take a normal (meaning not "eyecatching") image and use PSE to make it into something extra-special. I really like this and will certainly use the idea in future. Thanks!

Very cool effect. I like all three of the Autumn pics and the swirly pine image too. You're so creative!

Jo,

Dreams of Autumn is so beautiful. Will you share how you created the photo and what Virtual Photographer preset you used and how you framed the picture in picture? It is a wonderful effect.

Thanks for the compliments, Grace -- and everyone else!

Here's a screen shot of the layers. I didn't make notes of the settings, but maybe the layer names will help.

Virtual Photographer -- dreamy
make a selection and ctl > j (probably not necessary)
magic wand select on the transparent part of that selection
go back to the dreamy layer and ctl > j (put this on top of the "center" photo)
duplicate it for the shadow -- fill with black -- gaussian blur
diffuse glow to change the color and brightness of the "frame"

edit: by the way, you can use the up and down arrow keys to go up and down the list of presets in Virtual Photographer.

Jo,

Thank you so much for sharing how you created your beautiful Dreams of Autumn layout. I do appreciate your taking the time to show the screen shot of the layers as it is easier to understand seeing the layers.

I downloaded the Virtual Photographer plug-in but I have not installed it yet.

Thanks again.
