I love the actual story of the image and its softness and colour. Did you use a slight blur and/or??

It was dusk and the original photo left a lot to be desired. I used a levels adjustment layer, forgeting the "rules" and moved each color until I got something I liked. Then I duplicated the layer, something I do whether I need to or not, don't really know why:) and used a soft blur white filter in the free dreamy photo plug in. Then a layer mask to clear up the gas pump area.
There is a story...I have many pictures of this gas pump over the years. It is located on the Ranch that my Grandmother was raised on in Texas. I made many trips from KY to TX with her as a child and have fond memories of the place. I go there when I can which is not often, this Jan trip unfortunately was for a funeral. That side of the family has been in that area since mid 18oo's. Family cemetery goes back to my great-great-great grandfather.
It was/is a working cattle ranch and I don't remember when they stopped using the pump but it was still working in the 70's.

Nice work Jayegirl. Haven't seen you around for a while - or is it just me? I have a lot of photos that really mean something to me when I look at them. Bring back tons of memories. I have a large framed photograph of the view from by bedroom window as a child and still when I look at it I feel like I am right back in Caulfeild Cove. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. Shari, you are right, I am not around much...work..and I have gone back to school. It is a struggle at times as I would much rather be on here and work on photos than study! I am working on fitting in more time this semester!
