I'd say you're right Kim. Probably some different blending modes and also an overlay of blue colour on to of the background but not the guitar player.

An excellent collage. This kind of stuff really seems popular right now.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words! I'm sorry it's taken all week for me to respond--some nasty virus has had me pretty much out for most of the last week.

When my head is less fuzzy, I'll get back with some explanation/how to of the blue guitar image. It's more messy luck than technique though! In the meantime, thank you again--what a warm and friendly bunch of people!
