We had about 5 or 6 inches of snow last night and this morning. I ran out and took some photos real quick and made a quick montage out of them. Hope you like it.

We are getting your snow now in SE Wisconsin. When I turned off the TV news last night, the weather guy said the snow was over the Quad Cities and on a direct path for us ... expected to arrive about 6 AM.
He was right :) and..... I don't care, I'm retired and don't have to go anywhere tomorrow :D I like your montage - it's such a gray, flat day here I'm not inspired.

Rusty--Thank you for your comment. It is really gray out here today also. The snow is done. I'm retired also but I do work part time in the afternoons.

Garry,
Great montage. I can imagine snow like that, having never seen any snow falls :D

Karen--So glad you liked it. It was snowing pretty good when I was out taking the photos and then about 15 minutes later the snow stopped. All total we had about 6 inches.

Garry, we ended up with about 6" as well - it's still making a feeble attempt to continue snowing. I finally did rouse myself to do something. I'll call it "B&W with a touch of color" :D :D

What I was after was simply a picture of the snow coming down. I have never had much luck and wanted to experiment w/various settings. I finally figured out that the faster the shutter speed the better. This was about 1/500th

If you look over on the right you see the little flash of red I spotted. No surprise, we have a pair always around the house. I looked and looked, never did spot the female.

PS to Karen - it's not unusual for cardinals to stay for the winter; that's what's nice about snow - they really stand out.

Rusty--Those are two very nice photos. I can never find any wildlife around my house to photograph. Once in a while there will be a rabbit here but not often.:mad:

I was SOOO mad this morning when I woke up and our snow was NOT there! At 10:30 last night they said 4-6" for the St. Louis metro area (which is where I am) and then woke up this morning to barely more than a dusting and the weathermen acting like we got just what they predicted! I think one city got about 6" so they claim that as successful forecasting. I really wanted snow!

Nancy---I know how ya feel. Last weekend they said anywhere from 3 to 6 inches and we only got 3. The newscasters on one channel kept saying how the weatherlady had hit the amount right on the head. She had a 3 inch margin to play with.
With this snow today, they said anywhere from 4 to 8 inches and officially at the airport I guess we got 4 inches but I have about 6 in my driveway. All the forecasters here said the same amount.
