Signature...Help

I tried the tutorial for making your signature into a brush and it worked perfectly when I used the Text in PSE3. I tried taking a picture of my own signature and then tried it. After I select all and go to edit make selection a brush....that option is not available to me..Any ides as to how I can get my signature as a brush selection? Thanks

When I try to use my own handwritten signature...That I took a picture of...I select all and the ants go around the picture and then I go to edit define brush and it is not available...Should I be doing my own persoal signature a different way? B/C it does work with the Text Tool signature?

Hmm this should work. If you have an image open, go to Select > All and then Edit > Define Brush From Selection... :?

What file type is the image?

I ran into the same thing - it's a file size issue - I don't know what the limit for a brush is but I had to downsize an image from my camera before it would let me define a brush from selection.

Thanks Tony and Mike...It was a file size issue...I resized and it works!!

I don't know why this isn't documented and I have to say that it has fooled me a few times ... but I think its to do with the maximum brush size being 2500 pixels.

Yes, that's right... the maximum area you can choose for a brush is 2,500 pixels square.
