Sorry folks for the late posting I have no idea why or how long my server was down but hopefully it is now up, running and stable!
The Challenge is presented Kimi Boo. Kim submitted two for consideration and I was at first going to use the other one but it would have really really been a hard one and seeing we are starting at this a few days late i opted to the cute and cuddly.
Please note I am now posting two email addresses!

Hey Grant......glad to see the site is up and running again. Some people were concerned. ......there was even talk that maybe you were in the middle of your move!! Not considering the weather in NS right now, that wouldn't have been pleasant!

Rita... didn't you think it was a turtle?
It is at our local park. I remember playing on it when I was young. They must have painted it.
I am really looking forward to what everyone has done to it. :D

Kimi,
Turtle never occured to me, although now I can see it. I thought it was just a phantasy creature.
And done TO it, is just the right way of putting it.

Well after a delay due to a server not behaving then having to wait for a sufficient number of images to post and then off to picking up Doreen from arriving back from Barbados the Challenge is now up. Thank you for being so patient.
The first images are now being posted All are great if not a bit embarrassing ...the while the funnier ones are easier to swallow I am getting great delight in all of them. Thank you!

Kimi- In my fictitious town we are a bit cramped for land so the park had to be put in available space...:D

Steve,
Your town may be small but it solved the problem of what to do with the kids when visiting the grave yard.....:D:D

Thought I'd take a turn at the comments this week.
Alex-a nice trio of entries. Enjoyed the way you split the playful couple apart-those eyes in #1 are very scary.
Anne-a nice change of scenery with the trees and snow. Looks like bears foraging for food.
Bill-I like the framing of the turtle's back to bring the couple closer. Nice painted effect.
Bob-Would you call this "Being put on a petal still"? I get a feeling of flowers (or anti-gravity yo-yos).
Charles-Like the change in colors and the hiding of the couple. Perhaps they will return so our turtle is not so lonely.
DS-Your ladders and moving of the people adds a real feeling of height to the starter image.
Ellen-A great conversion with the flippers and head.
Kimi-Thanks for the starter image. A nice contrast with the multi-colors and black and white background.
Laura-I'm glad you "changed" to the piggy bank theme. I was hoping someone had this idea.
Marilyn-I get a feeling of a prehistoric, Artic creature with the fur and background. How did you get such a furry look?
Pat-Nice way to blur the background to give the image a sense of speed-now how fast can a concrete turtle actually run?
Pauline-Two nice color themes. I like the lapel pin look of your #2-perhaps those are jade stones?
Red Sky-What an eclectic play ground? Where do you find all your neat images?
Rita-Neat trick turning the turtle into pets. Love the color scheme and the concentration on the couple.
Rusty-I thought of those old Japanese sci-fi movies when seeing your entry-Godzilla vs Mothra perhaps?
TAB-These aren't the Van Turtle family escaping Austria while singing, is it? Love the insets in the frames.

Thanks Ward.......I was sort of going for jade. Should have taken more time and added some facets to it, but the project was just a warm up for my homework I still had to do. :D
Hmmm looks like I forgot to send my furry guy in!

Thanks Ward. The day care kids were from slides of a daycare I worked at in high school. Those kids are now about 30 years old. An old photo of my wife was used (in the striped shirt) and the lady with the dog was at a dog festival I went to this summer. So the images come from a variety of places and span many years.
Liked your bowling ball picture. Where did that come from?

Thanks Ward for taking the care and time to comment.
I liked your bowling ball switch a lot but your second was sweeter - it looked to me like the turtle was finding new buddies.

Did anyone else send an entry in and it not get posted?
I sent one in on Monday to the original email address and then yesterday, I resent it to the second email address Grant provided , but it did not get posted. Maybe Grant is still having trouble with his server.

Groan...terrible pun, but thanks for the comments. I aimed for flowers, but my eyesight's not what it used to be.
Loved the multi-user bowling balls in your #1.

The piggy bank idea was the first to spring to my mind. I must’ve had something like that when I was a kid. (Of course, I didn’t think much of sizing the bank so it could hold for than a few quarters, but oh well.) Anyway, thanks for your comment, Ward.

Some new entries are in since my comments from Tuesday. Hope I did not miss anyone.
Andy-A nice way to move the image elements around. I've heard of people being "barrell chested" but never "barrell stomached".
Byron-Thanks for finally clearing up all those Elements tutorials that say "Use a Mask." Very topical with the Jack Black movie out.
John-Nice color and distortion-is that the glass filter.
Pauline-I remember an earlier comment about your missing entry-how did you get that effect--hairy? furry?
Thanks for the comments on my bowling ball picture-like many others, I play with different ideas as I look at the starter image each week. At one point, I had a partial, circular cut out that I wasn't sure what to do. Suddenly, it looked like a bowling ball so I did a search on one of the free photo sites for bowling-related photos and things just kind of came together.

Thanks, Ward. I had one of those dim moments. By the time somebody said 'turtle', the deed was already done.

Ah Ward do I have to give away my secret?? Can I say I hand painted each and every stroke.
Ok........I'll confess. I was playing around in painter. There is a 'fur' brush that I just love. If you do one long stroke it looks just like those furry caterpillars. I was just playing with it and thought I would try it out on the challenge. I loved the way it turned out. The background I just used a smear brush on and played around. Basically the whole thing was a big experiment and lots of fun.
