Hello,
I'm hoping someone could advise me on how many Main Menu Buttons are allowed on the primary DVD template in Premiere Elements 2, and if there's any suggestions as to why I'm crashing in the scenario below:
I downloaded Adobe's sample DVD templates and modified them in Photoshop CS according to the conventions outlined in their PRE2.0TemplateGuideforDesigners.pdf file. I removed some of the layers (buttons) leaving the Scenes Button and the Main Menu buttons along with the Previous / Next / Main buttons. I then added more Main Menu Buttons for a total of 12, one for each month of the year. I added these Main Menu Buttons by duplicating the Main Menu Button Layers and naming them "main menu 1" through 12 and ordered them from the bottom up in the layers palette.
My intention is to have the primary DVD menu with the 12 month (main menu) buttons so that I can navigate to a month's slides on the timeline according to the appropriate Main Menu Marker. I'm using the scenes button for scene menu pages to be able to access specific scenes within the slideshow as specified by the scenes markers.
I loaded the templates into my project and the menu works perfectly in the DVD preview section. I can go back and forth between the various months from the main menu page.
Here's the problem: When I attempt to "burn" the slideshow to a file, the system locks up at around 10-20%. I left it running overnight on several attempts and receive relatively the same results. I have successfully burned this slideshow using the standard templates, so I know that the slideshow is OK. Could it be possible that 12 main menu buttons is too many for one title page? The thing I don't understand is why it would work OK in the preview, but yet crashes when "burning" to a file.
File info: 720x480 72dpi slides, no video, no audio, Length is 1hr 36min (not sure how to count number of pictures), PRE 2.0
Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks very much in advance.
