A year or two ago I saw somewhere a video possibly by Scott Kelby or Dave Cross with a neat technique for selecting a person with loose or scraggly hair. It involves selecting a portion of the scalp but that is all I can remember. Can anyone help me find that video? Thanks.

Thanks Brent. I have reviewed the selection video you mention in the subscriber. It is good but unfortunately not the one I am looking for.:(

Allen-in the subscriber area there is a video called "Using Selection Tools-Part 3 by Dave Cross, dated June 10, 2005. The video goes through using multiple selection tools in a project, and the subject in the photo has scraggly sticking up hair. He uses a combo of the lasso, magentic lasso, and selection brush to get it all. Hope this helps:)

Carol, that's a good video. Making selections can be hard on very fine objects such as hair, grass and leaves and the video shows how to make selections more precise. Helped me a lot.

Glad you found it-it's a good one-I especially like when he says-"I won't lie to you...it's a pain in the ...", well not in those words exactly, but you get the idea:D
And BTW, selections got sooooo much easier once I got a pen and tablet...

I believe the one that selects the "top part of the head" is the one dated 4/28/06. The title is "Selections".
I thought it was pretty good when I reviewed it. Have not tried it yet.

Hi Allen
If you like.... why not post a picture with hair you want to extract. There are so many ways and the picture often dictates the procedure.

Thanks Rusty. The 4/28 video was the one I was looking for. :D I don't know why I couldn't find it.
