Do your know you can have a Spell Checker?
When you open your window to write a message. Look on the right top corner and you will see the "ABC" all you have to do is click it and it will give you the option to download a spell checker.
I have had it for ages. Don't know what I would do without it.:D

Wow! Thanks Kimi! It comes in handy for me. Sometimes I have to go back and edit a message because I overlook an error. It works great!

I don't think you have to download anything - at least not with the "latest and supposedly greatest" Internet Explorer7-point-whatever

Look at the first Toolbar, over in the right-center where you see the green "check" and the words "Check. After you write your post, click that. I usually find all sorts of typos or misspelled words :)

Or if you have the Google toolbar (which is extremely useful for searching for things in this forum) it also has a spell checker.

I think Rusty's screenshot is pointing out the google spell checker.
I want to echo Tony's point about using Google to search here, I think he was the first to point out how much better it works- Thanks Tony for that.

ok, Rusty, Tony, and Ellen,
I've got the IE7, and I do see the toolbar.
Now I am going to see how the thing really "works"

I use Netscape so that is probably why I don't see it.

Hi Kimi ...
Thanks for the screenshot ... that doesn't appear when I use Camino, Firefox, Safari or thhe old Mac version of IE
Sounds like it is specific to your browser :( ... looks my typing mistakes are here to stay :D :D

Wendy: Yes that's IE only - and you need to have ieSpell installed as an IE add-in to run it. But it least it has an English(Canadian) dictionary that tells me that color is spelt wrong. :D

For Firefox users, simply navigate to this page and click on the large green button. It automatically installs the English dictionary and from then on (may need to close and reopen FF) your misspelled words will be underlined. A right click on the word gives you suggestions to change to. And this has been an option in Firefox for a while.:) Longer than IE.:D

I have it at home, but not on the computer at school.
So, when the room was quiet, ;) I did a Google search of :
Google toolbar, and downloaded it, placed on desktop at first, followed the
prompts,
and it works there now too, just like at home.
I guess I'll have no more excuses for misspelled words or bad typing.
