Organizer 4 issue

I got a new laptop and installed my 4.0 to it. Unfortunately, when I import my photos, the tags established in 4.0 from my other pc are NOT being recognized. Weird thing is, the tags I established in 3.0 are.

I have exported and imported the tags, but the metadata info on the picture just isn't being recognized.

Any suggestions? I have over 10,000 pictures that I refuse to retag.

It depends on how you have migrated your images from your other PC.

Tags are not automatically stored with the image. By default they are kept in the Catalog database and only if you perform an Edit and Save or use the Write Tag to File command will the tag be added as a keyword to the file.

Did you just copy the images to your hard drive and then use Get Photo?

There is a post about catalogs being a MS Access database file above which should give you some pointers about fixing your problem. If you copy the catalog over to your laptop, it should work if you have the pictures in the exact same directory that you do on your desk top.

I noticed that you have over 10,000 files in your organizer. Do you have any problems with that many files? I have about 3 or 4 thousand files and have had problems with them in the organizer. Specifically, with the system being slow and not updating properly.
