Hi,

It depends on the speed of your burner, your computer and the amount of photos in your show. The more you have and the slower your drive, the longer it takes:)

As long as you have activity you're ok:)

Hi Cara,

Welcome to the Photoshop Elements Techniques forums :)

How fast the slide show takes to burn will depend on a number of factors, including the write speed you are using, the spec of your computer and size of the show.

Burning VCDs is also quicker if you use a wmv file that you've aleady created.

I'd say be patient and wait for it to complete, but let us know how you get on... :)

thank you for your words of wisdom. But I guess I am still wondering if several hours is how long the burn should take. for say 300 pictures with music. Is there some other type of software I can add to my system that will allow this process to speed up so I can do more slide shows. this speed is a little discouraging. I have a dell dimension 8200.
thanks agian

Cara,

Several hours doesn't sound right... try saving it as a wmv file first and then burn the cd.

In the Slide Show Editor go to File and choose "Output as wmv file". Then goto Create > VCD With Menu and add the wmv file.

Let me know how you get on...

I tried a shorter version and had no trouble. I think I was just overloading the system with too many slides and too much music.
Thanks for your help.
