Well, I've finished my first old photo restoration and wanted your feedback. Please let me know if you have suggestions on how to further improve. If you recall, this was a photo hanging on the wall of a very old photo, so my resolution was poor to begin with.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

thanks, Jill

Hi Jill,

I followed the posts in your original thread on this picture.

I believe you have done the best you can with what you were given. After all, you started with a very small part of a small image to begin with. The resolution is such that you can't create something out of what isn't there.

You have done a GREAT job. :)

The guy that gave this assignment to you may be expecting magic -- you now have to educate him. :D

I believe your best advice is to tell him, "Here is a pretty good picture of your Mother. This is the best resolution possible from what you had. Take this to an artist that claims ability to 'paint from old photographs' and ask him to produce a painting of your Mother."

Hi Jill ..

I think, given what you were working with, that you have made a great job of it.

Well done !! :)

Thanks everyone! I agree, not enough pixels to work with, but at least he will have a picture of his Mom. I guess she died when he was young and this is the only picture he has of her!! So I was happy to do what I could!

Thanks again! Jill
