Well I installed my tablet. Haven't done any PSE with it yet. I'll have to follow some advice that I've read here and not use the mouse to get used to the pen. Wish me luck.

Brenda: once you've installed your tablet, a good place to start would be the two Wacom tablet tutorials in the subscriber area. Have fun!

Brenda, good luck with the tablet! It shouldn't take you too long to get used to the pen! I've had mine since Xmas and it's getting easier all the time. I love it for PE5. Great for selections. I started using it by putting the mouse away so I could get used to the feel and I think that good for me. And if you have any problems with the feel, clicking, etc. you can always go into the tablet's control panel and change any of the controls to make it right for you.
Let us know how you're doing with it.

Just installed my tablet also. I laugh at myself at trying to look at the tablet and not the monitor. Gonna take some concentration. Julie, I didn't know about the tutorial in the subscriber area. Guess I'd better take a look. It took me forever to get use to the mouse.:o

Just be careful. I was opening files using my tablet and I inadvertantly took the entire MY PICTURE folder and dropped it in another folder!!! What a mess of stuff I now have....didn't lose anything, but I have a lot of cleanup to do!!! So maybe hold off trying to open things until you get the hang of it!:o I am using the pen still, but man, do I kick my self for my stupidity!

I was trying to remember Michelles avatar also!
I am very basic w/my tablet. Don't use any of the 'buttons' on the thing but love it for making selections. I'm having enough trouble w/everything else:rolleyes:

Oh my gosh, that's awful! So sorry that happened to you! Like we don't have enough to contend with just learning it! Hope it isn't too too much of a deal to fix!

For those interested, you have to scroll way down for the tutorials. Wacom Video #1 and Wacom Video #2, dated June 24, 2005. Worth a look, though, if you are brand new to using the tablet...

Colleen, that is something I would do. Thanks for the warning. I remember when we first went to Windows at work everyone kept dragging files around without meaning to and dropping them in other directories and then not being able to find them. I am cheating, I still use the mouse on everything but selections. Maybe I'll get better w/the pen.
