Creative Scrapbooking with your Computer
I just received this book and it is by far the best one that I have seen. Some of the chapters are:  Creating Perfect Digital Paper and Paper Accents  Photo Manipulation Made Easy  Having Fun with Fonts  Crafting Digital Page Accents and lots of other topics. It is not just pictures of things others have done, it tells how they did it and what program they used.

Publisher: Memory Makers Books ISBN 1-892127-53-9 $22.99 US 14.99 UK $31.99 CAN

(I had to order it at Barnes & Noble and then pick it up or it is available online).

Hi Mary,
Cool book. Can you provide any insight as to whether it covers topics on Photoshop Elemenst? Are there actually tutorials on how to do things or is it more inspirational? Thanks.

I have found some time to spend with the book now and I have created my version of one of the featured pages. In the process I created a dotted line brush, paper ribbons beneath a wax seal all for the first time.

The book shows a picture of the scrapbook page created - the name and location of the creator - the image editing software used including any plug ins or filters and the fonts used.

Then it describes the elements on the page in 8 or 10 sentences without step by step instructions but enough detail that you can find the tools in your own software. e.g. "Create little text boxes and rotate for "paper ribbons" beneath the wax seal". (I don't want to quote too much without permission).

The sample I re-created was done with [Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8] but I was able to use Elements to do the described functions. I purposely picked one that wasn't done with PSE although the overwhelming number are done with Photoshop or Elements.

There are 112 pages in the softcover book and there are usually 2 scrapbook pages on each page so there is a wealth of techniques to explore with enough information to figure out how to do it.

The "Postage Stamp Sheet" in the book (Page 23) was beautiful and I just did a quick version to test out the information for "doability".

Now I just need more time to play!

I got the book today. You are right. It is very comprehensive and covers a lot in a neat, quickly readable format.

Matt asked if it covered topics on PSE. Yes it does although it is pretty general as it was written with all types of editing software in mind. The techniques all appear to be achievable in PSE.
