Maybe I've just not been on the right threads lately, but I haven't seen Ray (Carbone) around here in awhile. Are you okay, Ray?

I'm sure Ray is just busy.....looking for a brand new PC to replace his Mac!

I didn't know Ray was a masochist - looking for a windoze machine has to be about the hardest thing to do - so featureless, virused up and people spying on you all the time :D

wow.. I am speechless :D Thanks for asking about me :)

I'm doing various projects at home - finalizing the buy back of my leased car, shopping for an HDTV plasma tv.. If there's anything complicated, HD TV is. Man, that's just ridiculous! SD, ED, HD, 720p, 1080i, component, HDMI, HD tv decoder, video processing, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.. Anyway, I'm an expert now.. shoot the questions ;) (and I'm going with Panasonic, for those interested..hehe!)

I've also helped a friend who just recently switched to the Mac and then two others who did so a few months ago and are having workflow or software questions (e-mailing back and forth). Been playing a lot with my Wii (side note : even if you're not into videogames at all, go try one at a store near you, it's heavenly wicked! Wii sports is easy to understand and plays like the real thing, no manual to read!)

That's why I don't have that much time so spend here, not as much as I'd like to anyway.

Yep, birthday tomorrow.. the big thing... (sick..) 40... getting old.. too soon.. ;)

Ain't gonna happen. With all the persons around me who have switched to the Mac these last 3 years, one thing I am not anymore is alone on my computer island! And they're all perfectly happy, having fun instead of administrating a computer... ;)

What will happen is, maybe, I would get an X-Box. If I was forced to choose between Sony and Microsoft. That's as close as I would get to Microsoft...

...aside from having to spend 3 hours at their office.

Since it seems I'm always late with the good wishes, I'll wish you Happy Birthday early! Chin up! You're still just a kid!

Wow! I have really been thinking about a Wii. My 16yo son wanted a PSP, but I would invest the bucks in a Wii. I am sooooooooooooo jealous! Have fun with it! (It would fit my HDTV well, I am sure.)

Reka : The Wii has an optional component cable.. :D :D (making it HD TV compatible) So far, we've played Wii sports a lot some other games (Rayman and Super Monkey Balls). Coming in Feb, though, is Wii Play (table tennis, pools, etc.) with a second included remote. Let's get the party started!

Wendy : yes.. and now, I just downloaded a Cocoa cake recipe (which I will make for my birthday !!)

Oh, it's good to see you, Ray! Wendy says you've been around, but I guess I was hanging out in different circles. But I'm happy to hear you're well and . . . growing a year older! :D

HAPPY-HAPPY-HAPPY-HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY!!

Well, for my hubby's 43rd tomorrow (Jan 14)...and well, the next thirty-five gift-giving holidays combined LOL, we went out and got the Sony Bravia 46XBR television that is HDMI...dont have a CLUE what that's all about. I just know this is a gorgeous view! And I had to laugh when I was looking at someone's blog that posted pics on the recent Macworld 2007 -- low and behold they were using this very same tv to display the new Apple TV! Guess we're keepin' up with Apple's good tastes... first a mac.. hmmm... LOL

Our kids got the Wii for Christmas (last minute we got a unit arrive at the store overseas here and our name was drawn to purchase it). So far we've had no injuries, but one broken ceiling fan light (bulb only). And that was from playing BOWLING!! There IS a reason they put warnings on the games.

My son got an IOU for a Wii for Christmas. As soon as available he will get it.
They spent hours at his cousins house playing it. I don't play video games but this one might get me started. My husband won an Xbox 360 2 weeks before Christmas, I would have just as soon sold it but w/3 guys in the house, no way:rolleyes:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY!!!!
The thought of 40 almost killed me!!! 'Til I realized I'm only 2 1/2 years (well 2 years 6 1/2 mos.) from 50:eek:  Once 40's over it's all okay! (Like I have we have a choice:o

Happy Birthday Ray. 1967 - I do believe that was the first time I visited Montreal - along with the Queen and Charles de Gaulle :D

One small injury, one semi-damaged ceiling fan (and from playing bowling too!) but nothing serious. Did you get the new straps? They're a lot sturdier!

As for the TV, we did too looked at the Sony, but the angle of view is too narrow (for the space we have) and a plasma is the best choice for us.

1967 seems like a long, long time ago..

When I was a kid, there were The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman (amongst other) on TV. I was talking with colleagues about tv shows we used to watch. Suddenly realized they never saw any of these.. THEY WERE ALL BORN AFTER 1980 !!!! I remained quiet for the rest of the break.. lol!

That's when you know "your time has passed".. ;)

Well, we didnt get a different strap, just the one that is with the unit. The remote didnt go flying off his hand - he was just a bit too animated in his movements. And I have been there with the tv show thing.... it feels so embarrassing sometimes! And feel happy Ray... some people "automatically" love you no matter what LOL :D
