Works well enough for me as far as calibrating the monitor goes - and was the first step (but only the first step) in getting my colours to match all the way from camera to printer. The room light compensation feature doesn't do anything for me so it's turned off. If you get one make sure you download the latest software (1.0.4) before you install it. Works much better than the version that came on the CD.

I find my screen is hotter/warmer than before. Images are taking on a redder/orange tone after calibrating with the Huey.

TonyW,
I bought my the other day installed the software updated to the 1.0.4 from the link with in the first screen of the setup.
I had all kinds of problems with this device right out of the box.
Come to find out the vender who was building this item is no longer building huey..or so I was told. UPS me a new one recived it today.
I shall let you know if it will work..
bwolford,
Is that a good change? With that change does it make the items you view pop?

I haven't published many pictures since the change. To my eye they are warmer/redder than before so I'm apprehensive about saying if it was a good idea or not. Let me adjust a couple of images, post them, and you tell me.

bwolford,
I have set up the 2nd device and still no luck. After the setup the screen is bright and has a haze or a heavy fog look.
I have tryed on two other computers Compaq,Dell and I get the same-
they have 19 inch monitors, mine has the wide screen.

I used mine on a Dell 19" CRT monitor. Haven't tried the laptop yet. It does result in a warmer image if you use the photo editing setting although you can change it in settings (which changes the colour temperature). Funny thing is that it's noticeable at first but after a while it looks more right than the previous profile I was using (from calibrating with Adobe Gamma). I guess what is "right" is in the eye of the beholder but it has got me a lot closer to having my camera, scanner, screen, printer and the original picture all looking pretty much the same which is what I was trying to achieve.

I've used my Huey for several months now and no problems at all. Don't know what I'd do without it. The room compensation works. At first I thought the colors were off too and that it was too bright, but it really is virtually right on and I trust it now. I just *thought* my pre-Huey pictures were *right*. They weren't.

Next time you are in the area, bring all your setup stuff and you can do my printer/scanner/monitor. I'm sure it will only take 10 minutes.:D

I am getting used to it, but it makes me wonder whether my previous works were not warm enough. Old gamma only setting looks greenish. I'll be patient and learn to live with it until I see my first prints :)
Mine isn't hazy, it's nice and crisp, and warm.

You will bring paper and ink as well ..right???:D
Seriously though,
I'm almost ready to start thinking about colour management.. for the prints did you just use smaller sheets of paper??

I think I remember Jodi was kinda raving about the unit... I wonder if she still has the Huey installed and / or using it at all..
