You can now search the Gallery by user name. You'll find the search feature on the Browse All Galleries page, below the thumbnails.
Type in all or part of the member name you're looking for, and you should get a list of results.
This will help if you're looking for a specific gallery and don't want to hunt through the thumbnails one by one.

Thanks Jan.
I have one (probably stupid) question ...... What if we do not know the user name of the person in the gallery since it is a different user name than in the forum?
Just thinking ..... would it be possible to display the usernames in the gallery as is done in the Gallery Home Page?
By the way, I think this Gallery idea is stupendous and I am continually in awe of the work displayed. Only problem is, my time spent "cruising" this website has significantly increased.

Hi Kathy,
Yes, displaying the names would be ideal, but I'm told it can't be done.... (not what I like to hear  )
We're still making adjustments and tweaks, so maybe we can come up with another solution!

Jan,
I wonder if it is then possible for us to change our "Galley User Names" to the same "User Names" we have on the forum ?

Wonderful Jan.
Wendy, I think it's the best idea to use the same name as in the forum. I just use my regular name and sometimes find it confusing when people have different names. Never was very good at remembering names.

I would suggest if you want fellow forum members to visit your gallery, just put the link to it in your forum sig. It's super easy to do and will mean there will be no mistakes. In your gallery management page just click Share Your Gallery and you'll be taken to a (newly updated) page that not only lets you email your gallery but it also gives you the URL that you should use when linking to it. Put this into your sig and you'll be set.
Example:
View my gallery (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/viewgallery.php?user=1)
Believe it or not there are a lot of folks at this site that don't use the forums, so not everyone is as tightly knit. They probably just want to share their gallery with their friends and family.
(Names under the thumbnails in the browse page might seem useful now, but when there are 10,000 members it will be completely useless. And from what I'm seeing by looking at the database, it's rapidly growing. What I can do is add support for full names, so you could search for something that might be a little more likely. Let us know!)

If you want text to appear in place of the url (e.g. View My Gallery) then:
Put in front of the url
Add the url e.g. http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/viewgallery.php?user=67 ([/color)
Put a [color=blue]] after the url
Type your text

Wendy,
I am kind of the oppisite, I focus all my energy on the initial picture.
I use Elements for minor tweaks, justs a levels adjustment, or maybe to lighten or darkent something. Pretty much very little. I am open to learning more.
I shouldn't say it, this being a PS site and all, but there could be a couple pics in the gallery that don't have any photoshop work done to them, other than resizing for the gallery. Most have something done to them though.

You are putting yourself down. You have to have a good image to start with and then you make it better in Photoshop.
So you must have had good images all along.
I just wish I could put people and planes and etc., from one picture to another and have them blend as if they were really there. Really impressive, mind boggling, totally thought provoking stuff! :!:

Hi Al,
I'm fairly new to PSE3 and a beginner with a digital camera. This is a great place to learn and show our photos. Everyone here is helpful, sharing, and a fun community.
My photos in the Gallery are beginner stuff using the techniques learned so far. I'm also learning how to frame, metering, ISO, sensitivity, etc. I will be practicing in the Western U.P. soon. It doesn't get any better than this, a camp site across the road from Lake Superior. I am hoping for some fantastic lake and deep woods shots, and experiment, break a few rules for fun.
It would be very hard to pick out just one photo as my favorite because they're all special. :D

Al,
Just wanted to second Wendy's comments regarding your Gallery. I really enjoyed looking at your images and liked your captions.
Maybe it's because I took up this photography thing a little less than a year ago, but I thought there were a lot of "undoctored" images in the galleries. Of course, it could be due to the unexperienced eye. I think all are inspirations. I like both trying to get a good initial image and the creative side of Elements.

Thanks for the nice comments, when I have time, I will put more pictures in my gallery to fill up the limit to 24.
I wish the limit was higher. :(
My images are on an external drive which I just disconnected from my desktop. My desktop is somewhat slow as it is only a 1.6ghz P4.
:?
Therefore I connect my external to my laptop, which is an 2.4ghz P4 when I get ready to back up and burn alot of CD's. It is just faster. :D

Hi Sherry,
Try it this way:
Copy and paste this to your signature in the profile
" type the words you want to show on the site here (paste in the URL here)"
Then copy the URL of your gallery and paste in to replace the words "paste in the URL here"
Now type the words you want to appear on the site so that they replace the words "type the words you want to show on the site here"
Final thing is to just remove the inverted commas.
Hope this works OK :)

Hi Sherry,
I've peeked at your gallery and your images are terrific. I am a fan of jazz and blues myself.
I also had problems getting my link to work. First thing I noticed is that the brackets should be square brackets [ , not "(" the brackets that are currently showing in your link. Also the letters URL at the first should be in lower case.
The problem I had in getting the link to show up correctly was in the Preferences in my Profile. I had to enable "Allow BBC Code".
Hope this helps. If it is any comfort, I made several attempts before it worked.

Sherry I think the hardest thing to remember is to always add a new layer every time you do something, and then label it. That way if you don't like what you just did you can trash a layer and not worry about affecting everything you have done up to that point. Another great thing is that you can turn a layer off and if you like the look "without" whatever was on that layer, even if it was in the middle of everything you did, then you can still trash it and not loose everything else. It's a wonderful way to work if you get in the habit of remembering. (and I forget plenty!! --- or sometimes work on the wrong layer) It's also much easier to arrange things around when they are all on their own layers........like if you are doing a collage, etc. Each piece would be on a separate layer.

I have to show my ignorance ........ I am not an officiando of jazz .... just know that I like it when I hear it.
We have a Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival here in mid-September which is in it's 15th year and growing bigger and better with every year. It's five days of awesome music, going on in many venues at the same time, all within walking distance of each other. A must if you ever visit the east coast of Canada.
BTW .... Kuki is adorable .....

Sherry, I do the same thing when we learn get a new tutuorial......especially the border one that had so many steps. I did that one about 4 times in a row, and I think I 'almost' remember how to do it without looking at the steps. I think that's the best way to go to help remember. Even if you trash the whole thing in the end, try to do the project a few times to help it sink in. Each time it gets easier and less confusing.

All live music (pretty much) is good music whether you know the performer or not. I don't know whether any of the artists I know go to that or not, I'll check it out.
