I don't think there is an "air brush", but you can use a brush that shows some splattering and then go to "More Options" and change the settings for spacing, jitter and scatter. Try it and see. Hope this helps.

Airbrush Enables airbrush capabilities. This option applies gradual tones to an image, simulating traditional airbrush techniques.

^thats what it says on the help menu and thats what i want to find. thanks for the help though

When you have the brush tool selected, the airbrush option is the inconspicuous little button between "Opacity" and "Tablet Options" at the top of the image viewpane.

They're also easier to find if you turn on the text option (click on the little arrow)

I was going to say that you would probably find it next to the comb.....

....but then I re-read the message. It said "airbrush"......

Chuck: Look under Pen Pressure Brushes and there's one called Clogged Airbrush - that's one I can relate to as I spent part of the day unplugging the bathroom sink :D

Her 'airs in the sink
Have driven me to drink,
But she's my girl, she's my girl, she's my girl,
And I love her.

No, I think the monsters are simply a part of the forum!

Seriously, back to the airbrush. I found it, but I sure as H-E-double hockey sticks don't know what it changes. Anyone?

Reka, the airbrush effect is not easy to control, at least for me. If you select a very large airbrush from the dropdown list (like 150 px) and click on the airbrush icon on the brush toolbar, it's ready to use. Put it on a blank canvas and just tap the mouse button; you get a little bit of the circle of the brush filled in. As you hold down the mouse button, more of the circle fills in - as if it's been delivered by an airbrush. Perhaps with adjusttments to the fade in More Options it can be made to behave better - it fills in too fast for my liking.

While answering this, I tried using the brush with the airbrush icon on and off - and couldn't detect any change. So it's time for someone who really knows how to use this tool to chime in...

Hi Reka ...

It acts like a real airbrush would so its lets you build up the spray effect ... its actually quite subtle.

Just hold down the mouse and then paint a swirl, stop and then do the same thing again and you will see the effect. It works best at a low opacity :)

Wendy, ah....the opacity seems to be the trick. Thanks!

And toggling the airbrush icon does indeed make a difference. With it on, holding down the mouse button while in one spot on the canvas keeps the paint flowing; with it off, the paint stops after one burst. Pretty neat effect!

Hi Chuck ...

I think that we were typing at the same time ... to be honest the airbrush in Elements is nowhere near as good as the one in Photoshop.

In Photoshop you get an extra command which is Fill (Edit: sorry that should read Flow)and using that you get more of a real airbrush effect :)

Wendy, hello! Would that be "Fill" in CS2? I can't find "Flow"...but of course I don't know where I'm looking.

Hi Chuck ...

Sorry about that I meant to say flow ... which I guess you have found in CS2 (next to the airbrush)

They changed the way the airbrush worked between PS6 & PS7 ... not a popular move :D and this is how it was suggested it was best to do the settings in later versions :)

http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.ef9650b

A lot of people seem to have set up tool presets for those settings and with a reduced to flow to around 50% :)

Thanks SS - just learning how to use my new camera :) . And thanks to the other posters I've learnt a lot about airbrushes - I've found cloning with an airbrush can be quite effective once you figure out how it works. Mind you some of us don't have a lot or 'air left to brush :D

Tony ...

Now you know that if you don't take those decorations down by Twelth Nigth then its bad luck unless you then leave them up until Good Friday

(Once again I missed one decoration this year ... thank goodness its only a little one)

Tony I am so pleased that the revolving head hasn't come back ... it was creepy :D :D

A mutt indeed :p - Cody is a pure bred Tervueren (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_Shepherd_Dog_(Tervueren)) . Getting a bit long in the tooth (and gray in the face) but that avatar is a crop from this pic that I took yesterday in the back garden:
