As some of you know our cat Henry broke her leg way back in September. She is still in a splint and confined to her quarters ( it's an entire bedroom set up for her with all the luxuries so it's not too bad.) Anyway, she got a jazzy new splint put on yesterday and I thought I would share with you a photo of a cat in a purple polka dot cast.

I love the black nose and white ears. What a beauty. I'm sure she's the fashion envy of all felines.

Steven- she looks a bit pensive about the cast. Nice shot. Glad she is mending and owns people who know how to treat a cat right.

I've always heard that dogs are color blind - what colors do cats see i wonder?

Steven - That's great that she's on the mend! She does look a bit like she's wondering who's been dressing her though.:) Hope her recovery proceeds quickly.

That thing fairly glows!

She's going to miss all of this high fashion when the trauma is over.

Thanks for the comments. I was working on a little page showing all her casts, and costs.

Steven,
love both photos.
No wonder she looks confused, her name is Henry!! Now she's wearing multi coloured casts! Maybe you should call her Joseph.:D
Seriously she's gorgeous and I'm so glad that she's getting better. Lucky cat to have such a caring family to care for her.

She really is a beauty. :D It looks like she owns some really nice people.
But I have to agree with Kev....... Why the heck is her name Henry?

The scrapbook page is super - and she's a lovely cat. Henrietta? I'm so glad she's on the mend.

Oh, my word, Steven. I thought I'd spent a lot in medical expenses on my dog, Sophie, who has a chronic stomach problem, has had a gastroscopy, numerous other tests, takes Tagamet twice daily and has to eat prescription food. Isn't it amazing what we'll do for our beloved pets! Sure glad Henry is mending well. She is well-loved.

Go Henry!!! Hope she's up to speed really soon.
Our poor Kai had to have his half his butt end shaved after he got infected from the cat I took in to save (she does have a lovely new home) and I became $500 poorer...... But Kai never did know how funny his butt looked --almost all grown back now.:)

I was just at the vet's this afternoon with an emergency visit with Ruby (our ancient calico) who has a bladder infection. We hadn't been there for two days so I got her to oblige. While there I commented on Henry's wrap and told them I posted a photo of her on the web. They had me find it and are using it now as their wallpaper on their computer. Henry has to be in splints for another 6 weeks, rewrapped every two weeks so I should have some more interesting casts to look forward to.

Kimi and Kev, we got Henry when she was about a week old. Her mother was hit by a car and she had to be hand fed. Two vet's told us Henry was a male so we named her. As she got older it became apparent that "her hee-hee is a hoo-hoo" (their terminology as a matter of fact) but since we had grown on the name it stuck.

Steven,
that's a good enough reason for to be called Henry.
Even vets have a stupid filter!!:D

Just an update for those interested...Here's today's new cast. I think I like the purple polka dots better but this isn't bad. She gets another wrap in 2 weeks and then hopefully she will be done. Then it's a couple months of rehab at home. Hopefully she will be able to avoid a physical therapist.

Steven,

While I concur that the purple theme was spiffy, I think the blue stars add a certain liveliness to her ensemble.

Give her a big hug for me :)
(and a couple of treats too!!)

Yipes -I'm sure Ray meant treats. It has been so long - have the vets given you an idea of just what rehab she would need? It's hard to think of making a cat do anything but of course necessary if she will be jumping around again.
Thanks for the update and give her some catnip on me.

Steven.....

I kind of like Henry's new cast, I'm very pleased that she is nearing the end of her ordeal! Great page BTW.

You wouldn't want to know what I have spent in vet's fees over the years............I probably wouldn't want to know either...........but probably the best money I've ever spent, I've always loved my dogs so very, very dearly. What I have given has always been returned many, many times over.

Glad Henry is doing well. It hurt when they aren't. Design splints, what a concept.

Thank you fellow animal lovers. I agree with you Robyn that you really can't put a price on your animals considering what they give in return. We just think that if we tithe 10% to the vet through payroll deduction we should be OK through the year. You know it's bad when you call them on the phone and they recognize your voice even before you identify yourself!

Steven,
Thanks for sharing the photos of Henry. Her facial markings remind me of my sister's dearly departed cat Jack Daniels. Keep us updated on her progress & keep those photos coming. BTW, I prefer the purple polka dot wrap.

Steven,

Henry is beautiful! I love the collage showing all of the different wraps. And your description of how she got her name is great.:D (Definitely worth looking back through this thread for if anyone hasn't read it! )

This is Tuesday so here is hopefully the last wrap Henry gets for her broken leg. It is a soft wrap, meaning no splints or casts underneath, so if all goes well she will have an exposed leg in two weeks. They used the Valentines theme for this one and I think she wears pink quite well.:)

She in fact does wear pink quite well. Now if she starts sporting a feather boa to go with that hot pink you should start checking what goes on after you turn out the lights.:D :D
