hourglass on photos in organizer???help!!!

I upgraded from album 2.0 with over 1500 photos.-now when I go into my gallery large blocks of photos have gray hourglasses over the photos-when I click on the hourglass my photo comes up only to go back to the hourglass if I pan out in the gallery.-What gives??? I bought more RAM(went from 512 to 1.25 gig) but didnt help-----please help-it doesnt have anything to do w/ file size-seems totally random

ward, thank you for your help-your sugg. did not work-I then did a select all then deleted all from the organizer-I still had the catalog in 2.0 as well as saved to discs-I then put back the first of 10 discs that I had backed up(440 photos) and guess what-all of the thumbnails were of the gray hourglass.....I then did a select all, then update thumbnail and nothing happened-very fustrating-I really appreciate any help-anyone?????

Hi fphred1 and welcome to the forum.
I realize that you are new so you aren't familiar with the forums. You need only post your question once in the area you think most appropriate. When most of us come to the forums, we select the 'new posts' and your post shows up 4 times. It's better to have only one thread as it can get confusing for both yourself and those answering.

I get those because the file is too big for the organizer to display. I usually just open them up in the Full Edit and when I go back, they're there. Have you tried to just go ahead and open them up?

but they are not-I deleted all the photos then put back only 450 of them(most are pretty small rez) from a backup disc-now none of them show the thumbnail-all gray hourglass-i updated the all thumbnails to no avail......
