While visiting a glass museum last month I thought this would be a fun theme because it has so many different uses and interpretations. The theme for this week is glass.

The fine print:
Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.

Neon lights are a favorite. I only have one, this cobalt tea kettle. It used to have both a neon and argon gas charge, which gave the illusion of steam rising up the glass tube. The argon has kind of left, but it still gives a nice mood light to a dark room.

Thought I'd try a glass ship in a glass bottle. Pretty tricky to get the lighting right. It might improve later in the week (or maybe I'll find another willing subject to experiment on :D)

One more because this is a good excuse to learn how to use my camera (and it's snowing outside) :)

Glass is indeed tricky- I cropped away most of the blow outs ending up with the stem.

Here's my favorite glass (filled with a no-alcohol imitation of what used to be my favorite beverage.)

Here is my entry - three pieces of glass taken on a glass table. I used the DOP tutorial on the background. The cup in the middle is one my grandmother gave her mother in 1908 :D

Playing with a filter - probably would have been better if I had a black background to use.

Here is my entry. This picture was taken this afternoon before we took the Christmas tree down. It is a picture of a ceramic glass Christmas tree ornament we had made of our first grandchild, Lauren. She is now 11 years old. She has cereal all over her face which, to me, makes this candid shot so special.

PS......How do you embed a picture right in text without a link?? like you can see a image right in the responses of others.

Jumping in at the last minute with my handy wine cork holder.... "a glass a day keeps the doctor away"... uh, maybe that's an apple
I cheated - an old photo.

Just thought this was too good to pass up.
I can't take credit for taking the photo, my sons girlfriend took it, on a recent trip to New York City.
You Mac users should recognize this......perfect glass/class!:D:D
