View Full Version : Dragged Pixels

Does anyone else remember a tutorial where a column of pixels was selected, essentially one pixel wide, and draged to create a background effect. For the life of me, I can't find it. I thought it was in the tutorials, but it doesn't seem to be there. I also search on "drag pixel" and other varieties, but came up blank.
If you can tell me what I'm searching for, isn't that absurd, I'll look for it...

It's called a ribbon, bit a pixel drag...
Here's the instruction:
Ribbon background.
Select a colorful image.
Select the rectangular marque tool.
Set it for fixed aspect, 1 pixel wide and 2/3 - full height of the image.
Select the area.
Ctrl-J or copy and paste
Free form transform the selection
Drag it horizontally (or vertically as the case may be) to create the effect.
You can then rotate the image and use shere filter to change it's shape.
Sample, yet, uncreative result.
