moving pic to another pic

is there anyway to move for example a 2x3 picture onto a pic thats 8x10 and it maintain its 2x3 size? if i use the move tool it makes the 2x3 picture larger and i have to manual adjust the size of the picture.

Are both images the same resolution (ppi)?

I'm with Tom on this one I supect that the resolution of your images is different. You can check each one by doing Image>Resize>Image Size, at the botton of the pop up box there is a section which says:

Width
Height
Resolution

Write down the details and then just cancel the box. Best thing to do at this stage is do that and then let us know what three figures are ... hopefully we will then be able to help you achieve the effect you want to :)

sorry for the delay in responding and yes there was a difference in the resolution. i didnt have any additional problem with other projects once i made sure the resolutions were the same for both photos. thanks for all of your help
