If you have Power Shot 620..I have a question

I have a 1 gig card and don't really store on the card. What should my settings be on the camera for the best possible pictures using the auto mode.

Yep, always use the best possible quality. What you didn't get at shooting time can't be recreated later, so it's better to shoot using the best quality and bigger size, even if you need to crop later. You'll have more pixels to work with then.
