My first time use of this forum....looks like a great place to get some badly needed help. I have prox 8000 slides that I am scanning so I can make a m pictorial documentation from 1949 to the present for my family. I am having a problem never encounterd before.

Here is what happens: ...after scanning the original slide, using Nikon IV single slide scanner, and saving the pix as TIFF and/or JPEG and accessing them in PS3, some of the slides do not show as thumbnails but show as an icon with PSD written on it. I cannot access these pix. By the way, I have a new Epson 9950F, 12 slides at a time scanner now!

This is the error that appears when trying to access the PSD pix..."read failure while accessing the media."

Question:....what did I do wrong? I know I should have been consistent in saving them probably to JPEG and not TIFF, since my purpose is to make photo stories with music, transitions, pan and zoom , text and narration, and I don't need the resolution of TIFF. My PS3 works great in every aspect when I download and edit my digicam pix that I have taken in the past eight years. Would it not have happened if I had PS 4 or 5 instead of 3? Is this error in the way I scanned or something else?

I still have the original slides, so I can retreive the pictures that are showing as PSD. Is there a way I can convert or retreive these pix and not have to rescan them?

Sorry for this long winded post, please don't scold me....my next problem will
be easier to explain, if and when it comes. THANKS SINCERELY to any and all for sharing your expertise with me.

Appreciate your reply...sorry you didn't have the solution to my serious problem. Haven't received any other replys so guess I will just have to rescan
these problem pix and see what happens.

Again many thanks for your warm welcome to this site!
