Hi,

I am new to the forum and to PE5. I am making a composite image using various layers and don't seem to be able to figure out how to make a levels adjustment on just one of the layers. When I apply the level adjustment it effects both the layer and the background. Can someone let me know how to just do a a levels adjustment on just a particular layer?

Thanks!

Welcome! I'm sure others may have better ways to do this, but I click on "Control-G" (on the adjustment layer) to make the adjustment just for the layer below it. Good luck!

Select the layer in the Layer's Pallet, then do a ctrl-l (that's a lower case L).

Dan grouping it with the layer underneath will work for you. Another way of doing it is to hold your curser on the line between the two layers and when it turns into a little lock icon ALT click. This will group them together.
