hi Anna ...
Good spot ... I haven't received mine yet.
I suspect that no one has ... usually someone mentions it within a day or two of getting it and no one has yet :)

Not quite panicking (?) yet but I would like to see that article by Linda S. (scrapbooking). How is she doing by the way? Any news?

The newsletter is out and will naturally take a week or so to filter through all the many regions worldwide that we serve.
I talked to Linda last week and she's doing well. Pacing herself and trying to get plenty of rest. You'll enjoy her article on creating torn edges.

If I remember correctly, PE3 is published by a company out of the Tampa Bay area. Now, I live in Tampa and I still haven't received my newsletter.
The implications are:
1) I live in some kind of time warp
2) Mail from one side of our fair metropolitan area travels from it's origin to Kansas, and back,
3) Alphabetical mailings are done direct from the printer in some other city,
4) I never subscribed to the newsletter and the other 4 issues I have are all figments of my imagination.
When I figure out why staring at my mailbox isn't working, I'll let you know.

Sit down to read posts since yesterday and now, I am pining for my copy!! I've been so busy doing other things that I completely forgot about this issue until I saw this post!!! :x Thanks a lot folks!!! Now I'll be eagerly sitting by my mail box.
Truthfully I have started a painting order and that is the agenda for today, so it would probably be best if I didn't receive my copy today!! Yesterday I received a Dave Cross DVD in the mail "photoshop elements for photographers (it was for elements 2 but that's okay). It was pretty good, but I have to say, I enjoy the tips on here better because we are 'creating' something. I did learn a few things though. Between that and my new PSE One on one book, I have plenty to keep me going for the next few weeks.
Now............I'm putting the magazine out of my mind!!!

Wendy, I feel like I've fallen behind again!!! I just noticed the comic tutorial (and it was posted Friday!!!). I haven't even had a chance to do last Friday's as there was some commotion around here and we were away on Sat.!! I wouldn't let myself even come on here yesterday so that I could concentrate on my painting!! Now I'm afraid to go to the mailbox because if my magazine is there I won't return to the painting!! I pretty well have to turn off my computer and maybe cover it up so I can't see it..............It's like a bloody magnet. I just go to check e-mail...................next thing I know I'm redirected to the forum................next thing I know an hour has past...................
Can I just say that originally I bought photoshop to fix up pictures to put on a web site. They were of paintings that I have done to try and sell............I've forgotten what I learned about frontpage...............never got those pictures fixed up yet...........and don't care about getting the web site going...........BECAUSE I HAVE NO TIME (or desire) TO PAINT FOR PROFIT since I'm too busy playing on photoshop and hanging out with all my new buddies on the forums!!
thanksfully I have a family that know my passions well, and leave me alone.

I can relate....my purpose in using Elements was to clean up photos for the web and also to create some simple graphics for the website I maintain for the band. I wasn't feeling especially inspired and stumbled on this place.
I have yet to finish the site redesign that I need up and running in 2 weeks -- not even one little itty-bitty button has been done. LOL. My email box is full of content updates that sit blissfully in the follow-up folder.
Ohhhh, what a bad webbie I've been.

Yes Wendy, I am refering to the tutorial on the links section.
Couldn't help myself. Drove to get the mail, and I guess I got my wish............No PSE mag...........so, it's back to painting! I can honestly tell you that I NEVER ONCE used that carpet cleaner. He did, but I wouldn't have anything to do with it. The problem has since been solved............all the carpet has been replaced with hardwood. My husband has gotten a little smarter and one year gave me diamond and emerald earrings and necklace. They are beautiful and way to expensive considering we never go anywhere that I can wear them!!!
I think the WORST gift was my birthday present...........I'm in the hospital having just gave birth to my third child and he tells me my present is at home and he spent more than usual. I couldn't wait to get home and see what it was................
a f****g stair climber machine!! Ladies I am sure if you have had kids you can see why I wasn't happy, and well for you dense men out there, just go ask your wife why this would gift would not be considered welcome. I can honestly say I never once used that bloody gift either, but it's still in our basement 12 years later as a reminder and my HUSBAND uses it dailiy!! I am thinking now that I'm fired up that perhaps this year he would like a lovely PSE book or two, or perhaps a Painter book. ---- which is why every year, I make sure I buy something I'd really like and wrap it and put it under the tree.
We've been together 20 years and yes, I still do love him. I just learned the "work around" to living with him.

Pauline,
OMG, he would be sooo dead. My drummer son was born on my birthday and my dh said "Isn't that a NICE birthday present?"....well, right after having him I don't think I was quite ready to say that. LOL...as if HE did it all by himself or something!
My newsletter came today! Yay.... no more whining from me now.

 Well I'm glad that I could provide you all with a good laugh. Can you tell that it's still a bit of a sore spot after 12 years!! My husband is a very smart person..........but you know most times smart people just don't seem to have too much common sense. He finds it easier to let me buy what I want and that way he won't get it wrong. His birthday is on Aug. 6........now that I'm all fired up over this maybe I won't wait until Christmas to get him the PSE book. :)
Pauline
July 26th, 2005, 06:27 PM
Eva, isn't that just typical? He was hoping he wouldn't have to go out and get you something I'm sure.
One day I'll have to tell you all our wedding story. The girl in the next bed to me after giving birth to my first child was laughing so hard she asked me to stop telling the story because her stitches were hurting.

My Newsletter arrived today! Yahoo! My American Express card is all paid up so I will buy the drinks for all those who have not received theirs yet. :)
My husband's gifts are totally unpredictable - for Christmas one year I got tea towels but for Easter I got a Cadillac Convertible. (that was the car he drove of course - I drove the station wagon with all 5 children in the back).
Pauline
July 26th, 2005, 06:43 PM
Eva, if you don't have a sense of humour you just never would get through life!! (or I would have been divorced long ago.........)
Mary..........my point stands. Men buy for YOU want THEY want. So he knew you would never be driving the car because of all the kids. Not his fault...........couldn't just let it sit in the driveway you know! That way he give you this fabulous gift, you can't complain about, but he gets the pleasure of using it. My HUSBAND wanted the stair climber! I use the stairs enough doing laundry!!

I guess the best gift my husband has given me has been the gift of being able to stay home and raise our children. (not always an easy job) I can also spend what I want and he never questions it since I'm the good budgeter around here.

Okay, while some of us are waiting patiently for our PET magazine, I'll see if I can get the page total up to 11. Get your tea, coffee, drink, and I'll tell you a little (okay.....long) story of my wedding. ........ should be good for at least a couple of chuckles.
I said we've been together 20 years, but we've only been married 16. My husband and I work at the same place. One Friday afternoon he went to my boss and his boss and said that we would not be in on Monday.......We were getting married. (that's when I found out too). I was 8 months pregnant with our first child at the time, and it was a PLANNED pregnancy!!! I was still waiting for the proposal, and I guess him telling our bosses that we wouldn't be in was it. We were to get married at City Hall on Monday February 13th (Valentine's day was booked up  ) We didn't have a best man or maid of honour and he thought we should just get someone off the street. Anyone spill their drink yet??
Good friends of ours took the morning off to be our witnesses. (they were husband and wife). We go to City Hall and as we are looking for the Chapel..........the power goes out and we are left feeling our way down a very dark hallway. Luckily it didn't last long.
In the Chapel my husband is given a choice of 3 verses and told that no he couldn't pick the shortest one. When it came to the part where they asked "if there is any reason....." I held my breath since our friend is quite the joker. I was sure he would point out my big belly and shake his head. Luckily he behaved himself.
Okay.........we're married and Lori was the best looking one of the bunch. I was wearing my big yellow shirt and my big blue pants which unlike a wedding dress I got to wear plenty of times more with my next two pregnancies. The only pair of pants that weren't work pants that my husband found to wear were cords and they had a hole in them. (no we weren't poor-----he just didn't like shopping ------back then)
Sooooooooooo it's off to the restaurant for a celibatory lunch we go. I of course must make a trip to the washroom first and when I get back they laugh and announce that they have ordered me a VIRGIN MARY!!
We leave the restaurant and run into some people from the other office and my husband feels the need to explain that he is not at work because we just got married. One of the guys commented, "nice tuxes" I think I forgot to mention that we (except Lori) were all wearing matching hockey jackets (the guys played on the same team and it's the only thing that fit over my big belly).
Our friends leave for work and we head to the mall. Walking through the mall my daughter decided to drop and make her presence known.
My husband bought himself a new book and we headed for home where he read his book and I took a nap.
And that folks would be my wedding story. I must say I enjoyed my second wedding much more than my first which was a big wedding and certainly didn't have a happy ending. :D :D :D
Has the PET magazine arrived yet??????????? :D :D

:) Hi Mike
It seems I'm having a little trouble unzipping (extracting) using winzip. Not sure what folder to specify, when I go to copy> paste I can't locate the files. I did look in the Adobe program files, in there their listed as a seperate folder (PET Extras).
Hope this explanation is not too muddy.

Gary, just because your son is moving out doesn't mean he can't move back in!! Ask my in-laws about that one. They had 7 kids and FINALLY got the house all to themselves in the last few years. (the youngest "kid" would be in his 30's now) ---This one got divorced and moved in with her 2 kids- after marriage 2 failed-- then got back with husband 1, got pregnant and HE moved in for quite a few years........they finally all move out, and the next brother gets divorced and moves in.........he moves out and the next one splits up with his girlfriend and moves in..........then he moves out and the other brother moves back in again!! My husband hasn't moved back home yet.
Just to let you know. My 16 year old is out at a party. She should be home any minute now because I gave her an 1.5 bonus on her curfew. They think I'm great.
