Should I prep photos for the Gallery the same as for Pixentral? Suposed to be in the low 90s today. I'd rather multitask indoors, do a little laundry and size a photo while the washer is running.

hi Eva,

I just looked in the instructions and it says that ... the image must be in JPEG format, no larger than 700 pixels (wide or high), and at a resolution of 72ppi. Maximum file size: 300k.

So you can do them the same way as you do for Pixentral but at a slightly smaller size :)

Eva,

I the method that I'm sure Wendy posted elsewhere - Use Save For Web and set the largest side to 700 pixels.

They seem to come up ok...

Thanks Wendy and Mike...
A few need work. I'll start a load of wash and then get creative.

Wendy..
If I use pics that were posted on Pixcentral I can start putting something together. I thought the photos in the Gallery were awsome.
I have to do a few edits over. From a thread read last night I learned that I haven't been saving the edits in the best format, PSD. Things have been saved as .jpg, something I overlooked  .
I think our holidays might overlap slightly. The 9 day countdown has begun. I'd like to bring back interesting photos of Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Lake Superior. There are several historic sites between Ironwood, MI and Duluth, Mn. About half way between, in Washburn and Bayfield, WI are the brownstone quarries that provided building materials shipped to the eastern US in the 19th century.
Wendy...You can see, I'm planning a photo list. And at the same time trying to aviod the real tourist traps and stick to the less well travelled road.
I'm starting to ramble. Bye, Eva :D

Eva,

Regarding workflow ... I tend to save as psd's whilst I am working on an image but once I have finished I then just save it back as a jpg. Otherwise I would need several more external hard drives :)

I do keep some a psd's ... but they are mainly ones where I want to preserve the layers or that I think I may do more work on.

Wendy,

Regarding workflow...I need to study the books and really do the lessons, not just read through them. I'm learning this in a very disorganized manner and having fun doing so. But a little study would help. That's why I got the books.

Wendy..thanks for the advice. Eva
