:o i get a movie from media files drop in to stroy line time line opens all the frames story line has just the first clip from the movie. can not make it work or split the clips. what should i do ?

In version 3, there are two 'lines': one is a scene line and the other a timeline. I haven't worked in scene line, but just now I put a movie into it and and clicked on the first box. You can click on the play button on the monitor and stop it where you want to split the clip. Then a second box is filled with a clip. You probably can do other editing in this line easily. I just have no experience with it.

I am used to working in the timeline. You can just toggle back and forth between the two by clicking on the appropriate buttons on the right top of the 'lines'.

Maybe someone else will jump in here who has more experience than I.
