If you want to create slides for a slide show and want to use basic scrapbooking techniques to create custom slides, what size would be create it? My camera takes a standard 4x6 format and all of the slides need from the photos need to be cropped to fit unless you want a black line on the top and bottom so I was wonder what aspect ratio to use if I wanted to create some slides from scratch so I can do more than the basic slide show tools provide.

Also, I had some problems with the slide show because I told it to crop landscape photos to fit but it cropped everthing cutting heads off on all the protrait shots. There was a separate check box for that and it was not checked. It was fixible but I don't know why it did that. Is that a bug in 4.0? I tried twice and it did it both times.

The usual aspect ratio is 4:3 (for standard TV screens/monitors). Some slide show programs will let you change it (eg for widescreen) but I don't thinks Elements will.

I find the best way is to either crop ahead of time or not check those crop boxes but click on the image in the preview pane and it lets you move it around and resize it and then crop it to fit. That works in PSE5 - I think it did in PSE4.

As for the landscape/portrait thing I do recall that there was an issue in PSE4 with it getting mixed up between what was landscape and portrait depending on how you rotated it originally. If you use the preview pane resizing method above you avoid the issue.
