Color Laser Printer

Hi guys.. MERRY CHRISTMAS.. how are you???

Well.. I come here for 2 reasons...

1 - To tell you that Leah is having either a brother or a sister...

2- I need your advice in a color Laser Printer .. Ive been using my Canon i9900 that works GREAT!!!!!!! I love it.. but I need to print in a diferent kind of paper and need a laser printer.

Do you know something about it???

Hi guys..

well the real truth is I`m due in July..

Leah.. shes growing up so fast I cant even enjoy her enough.. she´s a little girl already... she talks everything.. even senteces.... please and thank you, everything I cant even tell.

I have been a little absent from here because.. well.. where do I start? My husband is introducing a new computer program on his business and he needed some help... so I decided to help, but it was very painful.. we´re working on parallel with the other program and starting with the new program now on January.. I hope everything works well... at the beggenning it was a pain.. but we´re getting there.. so I hope I dont have major events on that from now on...

And.. my card business went from 1 card a month to 20 in 1 week... people lost their minds, and started to ask for all kinds of things.. and you know.. a word is a word.. and if you promise something .... you have to make it happen no matter how..

and thats what happened to me.... I had the 2 things going at the same time and almost lost my mind... I was used to NON Sleeping nights.. to sleep for 2 hours and so on.. so I dont know how do I got pregnant!!! jajajaja.. welll I DO KNOW!!! But dont know exactly when as I did with Leah...

When I was late my husband and I were like.. no boy.. this is stress... nothing but stresss and waited for it like for 2 weeks.. but nothing.. there it was.. Leahs brother/sister was on the way..

And here we are... trying to catch some sleepp...feeling a little dizzy (with leah I had NOTHING at all) but you know.. every tummy is different..

Well.. sorry for talking so much...I hope to be around again as I was with Leah.. and... MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR ALL OF YOU GUYS!!

Congratulations!!!! Sounds like more than just the new baby and the new printer deserve a congratulations. That's good news on your card business too. As for the printer - well I've seen some very nice prints from the HP color lasers. I have never looked into them so I don't know what the replacement toner would cost (and I'm sure it's not cheap) but if you go to zdnet.com and look at the reviews for color lasers they will have have some good advise there. It's also helpful to go to amazon.com and search on a particular printer and read the "real world" reviews by users who have experience with them. That's what I usually do before buying anything.

I have a Samsung CLP-510 color laser printer that I use to print handouts for digital photography classes. I bought this model because it has a built-in duplexer which lets me to print on both sides of the page in one pass. Duplexer options cost as much as $500-$1000 for other CL printers.

This model is no longer available in the US but Samsung now offers the CLP-550N and 600N which are network-ready. A set of OEM cartridges costs about $400 (CMYK) but you can buy 3rd party refill kits for $40-$60 per kit. Of course, these refill kits aren't sanctioned by Samsung so you might want to wait til your warranty expires. I print 50,000 pages per year so it's worth it for me to use the refill kits.

Finally, print quality is acceptable but definitely not photo quality. I wouldn't use it to create cards or other items for sale. Paper choice is also limited with CL. The printer uses a much hotter drum so if you're not careful the paper coating can actually melt inside the printer and, that, is not covered under warranty. HTH.
