Christmas Day at my house is always very quiet, so I spent the day playing. I got a new video by Linda Sattgast at Scrapbook Elements on how to make snow globes. I have the action by Graffi and love it, but I thought it would be fun to learn some of the steps and make one myself. I downloaded a beautiful photograph from Font Fun Pictures of some Christmas candles on a mantel to put inside the globe. I've uploaded two versions to show; one is more like a photograph and one is like a scrapbook page. Thanks for looking.

Sissy, beautiful pictures. I love them both. You did a great job. I tried the tut in the subscribers area once a couple of months ago and totally messed it up. Very nice and thanks so much for sharing.

This is beautiful.
You did a great job with the tutorial.
I got it the other day and have played around with it a little.
Really enjoying it. I had to sneak some time from the holidays to try it.
I couldn't wait. hee hee.
Love what you've done with it!!!!!!!

Sissy,
Beautiful images and great job with the globe! Did you make the gold bow, or is it part of a kit?

Thanks everyone for your kind words.
Diana, the background paper and the bow are from the December Mega Kit from RAKScraps. Wish I had made the bow. There's still so much I have to learn!!

Those are wonderful globes, Sissy. I won't be able to keep up with you on collages either! :(
P.S. Where did you get the picture?

Awesome Sissy -- I've added this to my "inspiration" file of things I want to try to learn some day...
I'm out in the mountains of Taos this week skiing with my wife. Of course I brought my camera but I'm not a good enough skiier to ski with my camera for fear of falling on it, so I don't have any mountain-top pics yet. Maybe today later. For now I am happy with the pics I'm taking in town and out and about -- I can't wait to get home to load them into my desktop where I have PSE loaded. One of the first things I'll try is this Snow Globe with one of my pics. Thanks again for sharing Sissy.

Sissy,
I like your candle globe. You have done a really good job with the photo.
I spent time this year making tags for the Christmas presents for the family and your candle globe gave an idea for a new tag for next year. One of the early tags I made was of my dog Chelan in the Globe. Globes have become very addictive.
Enjoy the day,
John:)

Hi Reka, Well, of course you'll be able to keep up with me on collages. I've looked at your gallery, so you don't fool me!! ;)
I got this picture from: http://www.fontplay.com/freephotos/
Somehow I just don't have any really nice Christmas photos of my own on my computer. Somewhere in all the boxes of hard copy photographs, I think I might have some that I'd like to scan, but it will take time to find them.........just a little organization problem. LOL........
Thanks everyone for the compliments. What a great group this is!! :)
Oh, John, you are quite right. You can't just make one snow globe.

Well, thank you. That site is wonderful. I can imagine using those photos for many effects.
Thanks also for the vote of confidence. I hope it will hold true. Only 11 more days. I am glad the course starts on the 7th since the kids will be going back to school on the 8th and I will have more time.
Now if it would only snow so I could take some pictures of more than gray landscapes!

Hi ...
I think that Sissy may have used the one the Linda made available for people to use :)
However if you want to make your own the take a look in the Sunbscriber Area>Tutorials ... Making a Christmas Bauble includes instruction on how to make a simple one.
If you want to make a shaped one the you simply make the plain one and then use the lasso tool to cut curves into it :)

GREAT WORK Sissy, they are both excellent, but my favourite is the one with the white matt background.

Yes, I did indeed use the ornament top that Linda Sattgast at Scrapper's Guide provided. I made my own on a couple of other ornaments, but I didn't like them as much as Linda's.
Thanks again everyone for the kind words. Makes me feel like I'm making progress!!
