Hardware: Old Sony Hi8 camcorder, Canopus ADVC110 a/d converter, 3.2GHz Pentium D dual processor, 2GB RAM, 2 x 250GB SATA disk drives.
Software: XP Pro, Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0.
When I capture a tape to the timeline with scene detect on it works well; individual scenes are placed in the timeline. When I attempt to capture with scene detect on to the media panel (scene detect checked, capture to timeline unchecked) all I get is one big clip. Can anybody explain why?
I'm brand new to this gig and wouldn't be at all surprised to find that I've overlooked something obvious. If so, I'm quite prepared to go and stand in the corner and face the wall for a while.
