Steven- Looks like you've done lots of work on your house. Has it been in your family all the time?
Tony - Nice project you are doing and the photos are wonderful.
Here's a link to a project a woman here did with her grandfather's photos. Be sure and go to the interactive part, it is remarkable.

Ellen: Thanks for that link - I've been looking for good ways to present the images and that is a good site for ideas. So far I've only got as far as slide shows where "then" dissolves into "now". Here's what I did with that one:

Still trying to figure out how to get the file size down and in a format that everyone can see - not just those with Windows Media Viewer.
Hardest part is matching the perspective - I had to do some tweaking in Elements to get them to match. As near as I can tell most of the old building ones I have the original was taken with the camera on a tripod in the middle of the street. You could probably get away with that in those days but not now

That looked great Tony, I hope you figure out how to do it, and of course not get run over, maybe some road cones and fake signs are in order.

Gary: Nope we have our own - there are a few around although I don't believe they are affiliated with the US chain - just borrowed the name  .
BTW local rumour has it that we have the highest take-out pizza place density in Canada - something like 1 per 500 population last time I counted. Don't know how they all stay in business - I'm certainly not a big customer :)

Tony,
I like the way the old image fades into the new image.

Steven, wow, you have done a lot of work over the years. Great images.
Tony, it is amazing that so little has been done to the building. Also great images.
Ellen, wonderful shots of the young pup and the mature dog.
Bill, I had to look twice to realise it was a before and after - looks delicious.
Suzi, your daughters have both grown into beautiful young women.
Steven, your second entry is also amazing.
Gary, I thought there would be more Christmas images but the before and after of Christmas dinner - that is why I did not do one :D Gee it is tidy around your tree.
Tony, another great entry. I like the way you have cropped the new image to mirror the original one.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Karen. The name Guglielminoz was another aspect that I'm sure no one got. Seems that Guglielmino is Italian for Bill, hence Guglielminoz = Billz:D .
I thought there would be a lot more holiday photos too ... but I did enjoy the entries we got. Both of yours were fun and I liked the themed texture of the backgrounds you used.

Karen - thanks for all the comments - and a Happy New Year to you. Guess you're a lot closer to it than we are up here :) .
Must admit Steven's second was my favorite as I'm very fond of horseradish and chips. Wasabi flavoured chips - yummee :D

Tony
Thanks :D
I will have to take more photos now so my grandkids (they better not be along soon) can see what used to be.
The area around here is changing so fast.:(
