I recently saw some threads on doing magazine covers so I thought I would try one out. But I couldn't find any in the gallery so comments anyone! And does it need improvement.

Hey, Norma, that looks great! The only thing I can think of: maybe make the people a bit smaller so they are not behind the title?

Great job Norma. I might bring them down just a touch so the text isn't through his eyes but just above but that is me.

That's where I have the problem. If I resize the picture so they are smaller, then I have a white strip at the top.The whole picture won't fit on the background with the title.

Great Mag Cover, Norma. I agree with the others...you need to get the letters off the people's faces. I would move the people down, then take a selection of a strip across the top of the image, copy and paste, move it into place to cover the gap, merge the main image and strip layers, then clone out any obvious line that shows where you added the strip. I've done that a lot and it usually works pretty well for areas where there isn't a lot of detail, such as the top of your image, especially since it will be behind the text.

Here's one I did:

Another thought, Norma. Instead of centering it, you could right justify the work Magazine and move it off their faces. Or are you trying to copy the format of an actual magazine?

Diana, thanks for the great tips! I didn't even think of cut and pasting. I would think that would work. I'm glad you showed me yours. It looks great and I totally forgot about putting the date. I'm trying to follow the exact look of the magazine so I didn't want to right-justify any of the text part.

I'm going back to try your tip out now.

It worked! Thanks so much for the advice! It looks much better now. And I couldn't find any lines after I pasted that had to be cloned. Least I don't see one.

Norma

I'm a bit late on this:rolleyes:

Great job.. I was going to suggest putting the heads over/on top of the title.
I like what you have done though instead.:)

Great Job!!
I actually made one of my son on the beach at his wedding. (I think it is still in my gallery - the GQ cover). I printed an 8 1/2 x 11 and put it in their scrapbook. It was one of their favorite! My daughter actually said it made her want to open up the magazine and read the articles!!!!
