...I didn't get mine in within the alloted time!!!!...Colleen,
I would be amazed if this has not happened to everyone, at some point. My worst was missing $50 back on a printer. I stupidly procrastinated, and didn't remember in time.
I now take care of rebates as soon as I am certain the product is OK and doesn't need to be returned.
HERE (http://www.fool.com/news/commentary/2003/commentary030410JF.htm) is an article (a few years old) about rebates - it is not pretty.

The stores aren't stupid. Why do we think they give rebates? For that very reason, so many people (like myself several times) have forgotten to send in the rebate. Their gambling at the fact that most of us don't bother with the rebates. I hate store rebates. We bought a printer one time from Staples and was supposed to get a sizeable rebate back - send in the info - never received the rebate. My hubby says now he will not go to staples if they claim to give a rebate. I pretty much stir clear of them myself.

In a similar vein, many of the large department and specialty stores make a huge profit on unredeemed gift cards. Last year at Best Buy (a large North American electronics retailer), it was a staggering $43 million US! Amazing...

Funnily enough I like going to Staples because they have an on-line rebate system that has always worked well for me - I forget to mail stuff but being able to apply for the rebate on line makes it much easier and, touch wood, so far they've always come through. Just back from cashing the latest $20 from them that arrived in the post today.

Back to the gift cards--It infuriates me that some of them decrease in value. I had misplaced one I had gotten from a major dept. store as a gift ($40.00). A year later it had $0 value. They would not honor it. That makes me so mad:twisted:
FYI- went to a big mall in Jacksonville (one of the Simon malls). Was going to get a general 'mall' gift card to be used at any of the stores and found out the card had a $2.00 activation fee. Tis the season:mad: Guess I'll go eat some cookies!

Check your consumer protection statutes. In many States, laws have been passed to give gift certificates a value that cannot expire.
p.s. I got my rebate check in the mail today!

I recieved a postcard yesterday saying the reciept I sent wasn't acceptable for the rebate. I sent them the billing statement from Amazon. That's all I have to show I purchased it. Is anyone one else recieving the same message? The card said to send them the proper reciept and they would process the rebate. Makes me so mad! I wouldn't have upgrade without the rebate. :(

Diana,
I purchased my PSE 5 from Amazon and received my rebate in about 8 weeks from Adobe. Did you register your PSE5 with Adobe? I would call Adobe customer service and have them look into the rejection of your rebate.
Good luck,

Thanks John, I will try and call them today. I'm glad to know your rebate worked with an amazon reciept.

Diana,
I just had a "wonder" moment. When I sent my Amazon receipt and I sent Adobe a photo copy of the PSE 4 CD along with the serial number. Did you include proof of a previous PSE ownership?
I have found Adobe Customer Service to be helpful in the past.
Again, good luck

Yes, I sent them a photo copy of that as well. I haven't made it to the site yet to find the phone number for adobe. It's on my list of things to do though.

I sent mine with all the required stuff ( I double checked). I got a letter saying that I hadnt included that little tab. I know for a fact that I did. But I have no way to prove it though.

Did you make a photocopy of everything? If so, call them and see what they need. I make sure I make a copy of the barcode AND the filled out rebate form, on the same copy page(so they can see them together). This happened to me once and when I faxed them that page, I was good to go from there.
