Hi

It may look complicated but it's very simple to make this:

http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/uploads/thumb/15141.jpg (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/uploads/15141.jpg) http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/uploads/thumb/15143.jpg (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/uploads/15143.jpg)

Just use a layer style or an effect on a layer using gray and transparency.
In this example, I used the drop shadow effect but if the "Gold PET frame" was used, it would
simply follow each edge as shown at the butterly picture (butterfly cookie cutter tool).
I used (#808080) that is Overlay-neutral color (50% gray).
See how to do it: Here (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=628&d=1166327048).

Here's another example using that technic:

The "PET frames" in the subscribers download area was used to create the
"self-framed" butterfly, simply using gray and transparency.

I found and shot the fossil - all the other stuff is just layer styles...

Benny,
PS. The PET i is an abbreviation of Photoshop Elements Technic (or something like)...

Benny,

As usual, you have posted exceptional images!

But, you have made a serious error. The butterfly belongs in the GOLD TEXT thread (that's alive again) :)

Rusty

Yes, I also tried the gray, layer styles frames on simple TEXT but I better leave something to be found by those who would try this my new experiments... :D

Thanks for reply, and...

I did a search and found your GOLD TEXT thread, here:
elements ONE gold text (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?p=190564#post190564).

Since I didn't wrote about how to make gold text, Brent said that
I was an idiot. My reason for not reading those threads, and my
reason for not has wrote about text, is simply that I didn't found that
text was an interesting topic :)

Benny, I love what you did here.

The gold text thread pretty much doesn't have anything to do with text anymore. We pretty much hijacked the thread and just had a lot of fun. Now everytime someone does something with gold the thread it referred to because it was fun.

I am sure Brent was not saying you were an idiot. At that part of the hijack he was referring to instructions you had given on how to but a link in thread on a word. He simply was having trouble getting it to work for him. You should give the thread a read sometime as it will make you laugh.

Hey Benny............

GREAT WORK!

Glad you all like it.
and thanks AnglicKim for your reply :o

Now I use my english dictionary for this true story:

I got my first camera Minolta in june for two years ago, later my Canon, so before 2 years ago I did some other things than photo such as trying to find fossile.

Anyone who has tried, knows that you could find a sea urchin, or a
thunderstone (hope is the right word) but it's a part of an octopus, and
anyone tried also knows that you will never find a dinosaur, or a fish.

The reason for a 200 kiliometre trip to a location north here was actual that we wanted to find fossile. It was a large hole in the earth that was previous used to get clay bricks - dig, dig... and YES! :)

The wet clay fossile was not dry so it later became mouldy
Now I had to throw my new things in the garbage, but instead I put the fish into liquid atamon (baker's
and housewifes used in bread to avoid mould). I normally do not use my kitchen but I wanted to save my fossile.
I throw my 65.000.007 and a half year old fish into the oven, so it became dry.

It's now about seven years ago and it was very successful... (see the above picture (http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/uploads/15207.jpg)).
