I just finished (I think) fixing a photo taken of my grandparents and my mom (when she was 3). It was a labor of love ... and I don't know if I did it all the right way, but deepest thanks to Wendy for helping me through many, many steps! :)

Beautiful work -- you would never know it was retouched except for the fact that color photos didn't exist back then. Very cool.

Dear Ken ... I must correct an assumption that I hope I haven't led people to believe. :o

The original photo WAS colorized, not black and white or sepia. The retouching I had to do involved repairing badly torn edges (heavy use of clone stamp), getting rid of mold, scotch tape marks, very dark details, and redoing the background on the left of the photo.

Another forum user suggested how the original color may have been applied in this thread: http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17262

Tricia, great job! The colors look awesome! I had an old picture that I tried to fix but it was too water damaged and faded. Yours looks wonderful.
