I'm so frustrated I'm ready to dump this whole program in the garbage!!!!
I am trying to create a slide show. The problem is that I can't figure out how to get all the pictures in the order I want before I import into the slide show. Once you're in slide show, the only way you can see the pictures is on that stupid little bar on the bottom. Well when you have 200 pictures in your show, it's pretty aggravating to go alllll the way to end and then drag the picture you want alllll the way to the other end. Anyone know how to get the pictures in the right order first or see a better view, kind of like in Powerpoint?
Thanks

Hi Greta,
Welcome to the forums :)
Sorry to hear that you are frustrated with Elements and creating slide shows. Unfortunately you can't get a Powerpoint type slide sorter view in Elements :(.
The slides will be added in the order you they are in your file or Organizer. All programs do this but others like Premiere Elements and Pro Show do have a tile display option where it is easier to move images.
The only way I can think to do this is to select the images in the order that you want them displayed.

Before starting the Create Slide Show, I make an Organizer Collection of the candidate photos for the Slide show.
Within the display of the Collection in the Photo Browser, I can drag and drop to change the sequence. I use the slider at the bottom to vary the thumbnail size so I can either see all of the photos at once or see larger thumbnails of a few photos. I can right click on any photo I decide not to use and remove it from the Collection. Then I select all of the photos in the Collection and click on the Create icon to make the slide show.
I may do some fine tuning of sequence as I add transitions or text slides during the slide show creation, but the Collection sequence is my starting point.

Another option that I forgot to mention -
If your photo files have valid Date Taken info and if you want the photos to be basically be in chronological order -
then once the photos are in a Collection, you can right click on the name of the Collection and choose Reorder photos in the Collection by date (oldest first).
Now you can drag and drop and photos that you want to vary from chronological order.

Elements 4 has a Quick Reorder feature that displays all of the images for you to drag and drop where you want them.
