Hi Everyone

Does anyone know what the "Automation Tools" is and how it is used in PSE 5? I have some Java scripts that are written for CS and CS2 it sure would be great if I could use them in PSE 5. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA -c-

Hi ...

I can't check on PSE5 at the moment but automation tools is very limited and I'm pretty sure that PSE5 isn't going to be able to run scripts ...

I won't be able to access PSE5 until tomorrow but maybe someone else can check it out for you :)

For PSE4 for Mac, this menu contains the PDF slideshow, and the NuLooq wheel (it's a Logitech gizmo for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements). So maybe, on the PC, it's kept there for compatibility with other apps such as NuLooq since the Organizer does much in terms of slideshow.

Ray: You're right - I just looked it up in the Missing Manual and Export and Automation Tools are almost always grayed out - they're there for compatability with any plug-ins that may need it - I guess I don't have one as mine are grayed out - and I've yet to run across a plugin that uses them - not even sure what the file extension would be and where to put it if I did run across one.

In my 6+ years with Photoshop / Photoshop Elements, that's the only 3rd thing I've ever seen there, the NuLooQ :)

Thank you so much for your help. It was driving me NUTS! What was worse is that it wasn't addressed in the program HELP. I knew someone somewhere would have the answer. TYVM! -c-

NuLooQ is a very specialized tool. If you have the abilty to use both hands at the same time, and I do not mean using a keyboard, but rather painting in one hand and variying or changing the tool with the other, then yes, all the way, the NuLooQ is for you. On the other hand, it'll only become something blue glowing on your desk ;)

All this made me curious as to what I had under Automation Tools in my Photoshop Elements 3.0. Not much...

Multi-Page PDF to PSD
and
rik Color Efex Pro 2.0 Selective GE... (these are filters that came bundled with the Wacom Graphire 3 at purchase)

I have access to Photoshop 7.0 and noted that far more built in options in that category in Photoshop 7.0.
