I have been trying to download an .ASL file into PSE 5, but no luck. PSE 5 is off when I unzipped the files into the "styles' folder, but it doesnt show up when I re-open. In contrast, I was able to install the snowflakes brushes without any problem. Anyone?

Hi Montrealf,
PSE5 is a bit more confusing than PSE4 (at least for me!).
Here is the path to install .asl files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects\layer styles
Your path may be slightly different to mine, but this is the basic location (not in the Program files\Adobe...).
If in All Users you can't see the Application Data folder, go to Tools - Folder Options - view - Show Hidden Files.
I hope you get your styles installed!

As Graffi pointed out in another post (and which I didn't realise) you should really put styles in both places (Special Effects and the old styles folder). Then they will show up both in the Artwork and Effects palette and in the option bar styles selector. Or get Graffi's add-in and it will do it for you automatically.
