Help with Deckle edge

I'd like to try adding the deckle edge to this photo. I've downloaded and put it into PSE3 custom shapes, but I can't figure out how to apply it. Help, please?:o

I can't help you with you with your deckle edge, I don't even know what that is, I just couldn't resist saying thank you for making me smile at the end of a long week.
