Trying to add snowflake font

I am at a loss! I am making a Christmas card and I can easily add a new layer and put text in where I want but when I add a new layer and try to add a character font nothing comes up? Do I put the new layer somewhere in certain place? I am so new at this and I would love to have some help. TIA

Traci,
always make sure that the layer you wish to add text to is above the layer you want the text to appear on.
Hope this helps as I'm not sure what you want to do.

Hi Traci ...

The character fonts sometimes don't use all of the keys ... try Caps Lock and see if that fixes it as they sometimes just use the Capitals Keys :)
