I asked for some new challenges and two great ones arrived, so thank you very much. Pleased keep them coming.
Helen Russell's little duckie just touched my heart. I can see it now a bath, candle, wine and little duckie.
Please have fun with the Challenge.

Dear Grant,
This is just too funny to see my photo being used for the Challenge! Thank you very much.
The circumstances of its being taken were amusing, to me at least. When we stayed recently at a hotel in Tsawwassen, we were "Special Guests of the Day" which meant that we were "upgraded" from an ordinary room to a suite. We had just come off a fairly stormy crossing from Galiano and I was really looking forward to soaking in a hot bath. Our upgrade meant that there was a Jacuzzi in the bedroom, the sort surrounded by mirrors, but no walls. So not my idea of a good time! However, the duck gave us a good laugh!
Cheers,
Helen

I'm still new to the forum, and this is the first time I've checked out this particular section--Challenges & Contests. I'm confused as to what this challenge is. Are you looking for photographs with rubber ducks??

Click on the link beneath the row of stars in Grant's post. Then click on Present Challenge.
The challenge photo is used to inspire other creative compositions. Give it a try....and you'll get hooked.....:D

Sissy - Chas is right ... bet you can't do just one!
Another challenge is the weekly photo theme. A new theme is posted each weekend, and we are challenged to take a photo that captures the theme. Liberal interpretation of the theme is encouraged, resulting in some very creative entries.
Hope to see you often down in this part of the forums.

Tony- This started with my first Grant's challenge (not sure of the number but it was Ray's bench) and to this I have added 24 additional challenges. I'm not counting GI Joe and girlfriend; they were included because they make random showings. So, 25 total challenge elements for one to find....;)

Hmmmmm....I make it 8-counting random bits of yellow that just could be duck parts....good one,Steve!

Grant,
Although I just began to participate around 175, I have have found these challanges most interesting. The gammit runs from comical, warped, and inspirational, to envyable.
Thanks for taking the time to allow us so much fun. Along with Survivors, CSI, Gray's Anatomy, and Men In Trees, the challanges are definitely part of the Thursday night lineup we look forward to. You deserve the Oscar, Emmy, or .....our equivalent.
Oh, Oh,....that would be a great challange. Let's all make Grant a "Challanging
Award" for 201. I'll leave it up to someone else to confirm and organize.
And, thank you, to those who regularly take time to comment on each entry.
That is a very time consuming task..........enjoyed by all!
Once again,
Thank you!

I think a Thank You for Challenge 201 is an excellent idea. Perhaps a free form entry similar to previous holiday themes. Whatever you wish to send. Does this sound good to everyone else?
Grant, I'm sure you would never suggest such an idea, but I'm hoping you'll provide the hosting.
Red Sky-Thanks for the count on your previous Challenge entries. I've found 24 but I'm still looking for the 25th.

I never reveal a Challenge before Thursday but in the face of an infinite pressure this movable force may cave in.
Just remember the Challenge is nothing without you people and a joy with you.

Thanks for your responses about what this challenge is about. I jumped in and I've made "something" out of the challenge photo. I've searched high and low on: http://www.cavesofice.org/~grant/Challenge/index.html
to try to find where to upload my photograph.
Would someone please provide that information??
Thanks again..........

Sissy,
Go to the Welcome page and scroll down to Submit Entry. Click the link and an email to Grant will come up with the address. Or, challenge@cogeco.ca and attach the files per his instructions eg : 200sissy1, second would be 200sissy2, etc. You'll probably need to rename your file before attaching.

Thanks for the email, Jack. I went to the Welcome Page and every other link on the site and never did find the link to submit anything. I just emailed my two entries to Grant.

Andie- I'm sure many of us have garden gnomes in the dark recesses of our hard drive, I know I do. I made up a little alternative photo for you that maybe you would like a little better.

Thanks Wendy. I haven't had much time lately and have been painting like mad. Was late getting started on my kids Christmas ornaments and then I got an order. so I've been ignoring the computer for days, but knew I had to participate in this challenge because my niece in the bubbles was perfect for it. She is the bride I did the photos for this summer! It was a pretty easy job as I didn't have time for anything overly creative.

Wendy --
Thanks for the comments. The axed duckie actually was just a way to expose the cut edge and not true hostility.
Great job cutting the chrome pipe in your #2 & #3. Some other favorites this week -- Ben Mills' sunglass reflections, Bill Zingraf's University of Oregon scene (did my grad work there so it's a sentimental favorite), the visual/verbal puns by Chris Rankin, Malcolm Denton and Ward Grant, Jack Storck's sledding animation, Marilyn Lee's use of the chrome column for her mirror support, Pauline Washburn's bubble bath (for sheer exuberance), Rita Gremmel's swan & dancers, Sissy's #2 pinwheel, and Tom Murray's cloisinee ball (even the reflection changed!).

Thanks for taking the time to comment on this week's entries.
My #3 was a quick hit of some ideas I had that I did not think would work as full sized images. Bob, I'm glad you meant no hostility, but I think the poor duck would hate to see what happens when you are angry.

Raffy,
I believe you must send the following:
1. .swf
2. html file
3. A thumbnail graphic for the index pages.
Sending these three files, the entry went off with no problems. Never heard from Grant. It just got posted.
